My husband and I love hitting the road & exploring the back roads of Missouri as we drive to see friends & family in Illinois. This was a new route for us, and the scenery to the Super 8 in Potosi was fantastic. We were EXTREMELY pleased with the entire staff, and could not have been more comfortable in our room, which was the cleanest hotel room we stayed at on this trip. It was a perfect stay from check-in to check-out!!

Wow, they still have the same employees they had in 2007. THAT tells me ALL I need to know. We needed a no nonsense, no frills place and always get more than expected here. Theyre breakfast is a superstart breakfast (biscuits and gravy, bagels, french toast, flavored oatmeals, pop tarts, danishes, juice, coffee, cocoa, milk, cereals, fruit and cookies. To me....thats a heck of a deal. Also had fridge and microwave, blowdryer, 1 cup coffee maker and comfy recliner in our room. The rooms were clean, no dust and clean bathrooms and I am a fanatic about a clean bathroom (clean everything). I normally dont rate anything 5 star, except maybe the Ritz if I could afford it; but rated it this as ones who rate 1 star are those people we have all met that are never happy...and expect everything for nothing. My husband and kids and I enjoyed our stay and like their cute little town and shops. (Boos Market {everything from steak to a bowl of soup} and Dos Primos {Authentic Mexican} were both very good...a little above our budget, but we could of ordered cheaper)

Super 8 Potosi is the only choice for miles around. If you don't mind ciggy smoke wafting through the vents, construction crews barbequing in the parking lot and water stains on the ceiling this is the place for you. The quickstart breakfast is disgusting.

The only positive thing I can think of to say about this hotel is that the staff was as helpful as possible. Upon my arrival there were two lightbulbs burned out in the lamps (the only available light) in the room. I took the bulbs down to the front office and when the staff couldn't find any bulbs, they told me they would bring them down ASAP... and they did. That was nice of them.

Because the bathroom smells like a backwoods, smoky bar I used the available towels to pack around the door. My nose is stopped up from the funk in the room, I woke up in the middle of the night with a cough, and I will have to drop my suitcase in the garage to air out before it comes into my house.

There were times in my life that I would have been thankful for a place to lay my head. If you need something to be thankful for, then maybe this is the place for you. Otherwise, either keep driving by....

Very nice staff, and rooms were very clean. Nice location for me. I felt like I was at home.
