“Don't be fooled by the exterior”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

The exterior looks like a plain old Comfort Inn. But the lobby is very nice and welcoming. Then you get onto the tiny old elevator and you might question your choice. the halls are kind of dingy with worn carpeting and scuffed walls & doors. but then, you open the door and you will be AMAZED at the interior decor. You will not want to leave your room!! Breakfast was really good. there was an attendant taking care to make the areas clean and to replenish the hot egg and sausage patties. Everything was very tasty. The staff was very nice.

Room Tip: We had the longest walk from the elevator to our room so specify the distance you want to be from th...

“Quiet and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

Room seems recently redone, reasonable, but not fancy. Newer hvac unit with no burning dust smell, and programmable settings. Airport location - not really - but as one of the other reviewers said, you are close enough, don't have the noise, and they will shuttle you.

Published rate seemed a little high. I got a decent discount by asking.

Friendly desk staff. I would stay here again.

“Excellent hotel at a prime location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

This is gem of a hotel. It is at the Kansas City airport without being at it! A short 10 minutes freeway ride (they provide shuttle) brings you to a quiet and friendly space, away from the noise and bustle of the airport to rest. The motel is at a walking distance to a a number of small restaurant and a shopping center, but 5 minutes drive from it, is a great big mail with nearly everything, particularly the postal/fedex/other carriers stores, and a fantastic supermarket with a great selection of fresh produce (crispy fresh, not frozen "fresh"), and all. The location and comfort of this hotel cannot be beaten. Fantastic value and restfulness, and so close to the airport without being in its noisy midst.

I am a constant traveler, and I have seen good, bad and different lodging accommodations all over the world. This is a gem of a hotel for location, comfort and value

The hotel folks are superbly friendly and professional. The rooms are clean, roomy and well equipped. The breakfast room is likewise clean and cute. The menu (cold items, plus sausage gravy and biscuits) may not be to the liking of some, but others seemed to enjoy it immensely.

The only drawback is the unsteady internet connection, which is patchy. This is something that needs improvement specially for the business travelers who need constant and fast connection, not occasional or slow.

“There are newer properties closer to airport”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

I was surprised at the condition of this hotels since it had such good reviews and company awards. My take was of an older property that was in need of updating as well attention to detail with Regard to cleaning and maintenance. The management did make good on a mess up with my reservation thank goodness. I received a night free with a discount. I would have been really put out had I paid over $80 per night for this subpar room. I watched game 7 of the world series on a probably 15 year old 25 inch tube tv with mediocre reception....argh! No flat screens here! The bathroom was nice but the furniture and carpet in the room was about as impressive as the tv. I requested housekeeping to give the room another try at the room after checking in. A deep stain that I hope was jelly from breakfast was on the bedspread, and the sheets of one bed had hairs and other particles of some sort. When this is your first impression, you start looking closer at everything with a questioning eye. The floor needed vacuuming and the drawers had leftover change (pennies) that were still there when I checked out. All of this was disappointing, but really not bad for my adjusted half off price. The front desk was very helpful and the breakfast was as you would expect from a comfort inn. The pool area and outside deck seating was very nice and spacious. This was a pretty nice property in its day I think. Maria's next door was fantastic. I had one of the best top shelf margaritas ever. (2 actually!). Food was great, margaritas expensive, but hey, I got a deal on the room. There is no hotel competition nearby and they get extended military stays as well as airport business so the place stays full. No need to spend the money to update if business is that good I guess. For airport customers there are much newer properties closer to the airport. Pay the extra for 21st century lodging.

Note: I have photos but cannot figure out how to post them from my IPad

Room Tip: Ask if there are updated rooms available...especially if you are accustomed to newer tv viewing

It is very important when reading reviews about a business to consider that not everyone is reasonable or accurate.
I am very disappointed with this review because it is not reasonable or accurate. We were very gracious and fair with this guest - even to his admission, at the time. Now we find that he is going out of his way to slander our good reputation.
Our televisions are 32" screen and less that 4 years old.
We have plenty of competition in the area (over 30 hotels) and are one of the few which are locally owned and operated. As you stated, there are newer hotels at the airport - however so many choose to stay at our property because they are treated so special here - just as you were. Every guest - including you - are extremely important to us. This is one reason we receive so many positive comments about our property and staff. We have invested a great deal of time and money in the renovation of this property during the past 5 years and continue to do so. We offer clean rooms in good condition with excellent service. Our property has unique features that many appreciate. A few of which include: very spacious rooms, completely renovated bathrooms, additional vanities in rooms, micro and fridge in every room.
Our community location offers much more that just a stop along the highway.
Our staff is extremely friendly, helpful and in fact rated among the top 10% in the country.
Our guests even pay 8% less than our competition because there tax rate is overpriced.
I do not think your comments are accurate or reasonable and for those who read this - please take the time to review our last 30 reviews on this website.
Kind Regards,
Brady Rodgers, Owner

“Nice place for the $$$”

Overall this is a nice, clean place to bunk for the night. Was in town for a Wedding and it was very close. There is Marias next door which has good mex food and the pool and cardio room looks nice. Rooms seem to have been remodeled and beds are comfy! Close to airport but in no way close to downtown. Park and fly is available also. And close to NASCAR track.
