Stayed here Veterans Day weekend with spouse and two pre-teen children to get some shopping in at the Osage Beach Outlet Mall, which is directly across the street. In similar past trips, we've stayed at the Osage Village Inn which is also very close to the mall and cheaper, but wanted to try this hotel, if only to earn Priority Club points.
When I checked in, I was greeted and the desk clerk had my reservation ready. As I was telling her I was a Priority Club Rewards Platinum member and to see if I could get upgraded from a King room, she already had my reservation up and was looking to upgrade me. She was able to get us in a King Deluxe on the 3rd floor, which had a large separate bedroom for the king bed (main room had a sofa sleeper with fridge/coffee maker/etc.). This was a very nice "suite".
Room was clean, but it did appear that there were some minor cosmetic issues with the room (such as spots where they had done some repairs on the walls and they hadn't painted over the patches---again very minor issue).
Only real "problem" we had was with the shower design and the curtain. When taking a shower, even with the curtain properly situated within the tub, the design of the shower/tub allowed water to get around the curtain and pool in front of the tub. Each time, our floor/towel mat was completely soaked.
The parking area of the hotel does sit on a hill, but spots directly in front of the hotel entrance (and actually sitting in the property of the Miner Mike's family center) are on a slight incline, but fairly flat. Others, especially those up against the building are steeply inclined.
Breakfast was the typical Holiday Inn Express fare. Both days the offering was cheese omelets, sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy, cinnamon rolls, various pastries/yogurts/cereal, bananas, milk, orange/apple juice and coffee. Perfect for our family. I do wonder if Holiday Inn has a deal with McDonald's or its supplier as the eggs/sausage/biscuits and gravy appear to be the same. Regardless, it works for us. Also, about the coffee---it was always available, day or night.
I get up early anyway, but a word of advice about breakfast---if you are here on any weekend that the hotel is full of shoppers, especially holidays and big sale weekends, make sure you are eating no later than 730am, otherwise you will be standing in line waiting for a table to open (seating for about 20) and/or taking your breakfast back to your room.
All in all, this is a nice hotel in a great location. While I really don't like shelling out $100 just for a place to sleep and grab a quick breakfast, this hotel is a great option.
Room Tip: Ask for the deluxe room on the 3rd floor adjacent to the elevator--very big room with separate king...
