“The owners/staff are friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

This place is located on a frontage road to I-70 in the St. Louis area. The hotel could use some more lighting in the hallways. The carpets could use a shampoo to brighten the appearance. Some of the beds could use newer bed linen.

This is not a fancy hotel nor is it within walking distance of a local restaurant. You will need a vehicle to get to a place to eat. The rooms do include a microwave, refrigerator and wireless connection. There is a swimming pool at the hotel. I like staying here because they allow dogs ($15 extra/dog/night). The owners/staff are friendly and that means a lot to me.

This hotel has a basic continental breakfast (cereal, muffins, bagels, bread, milk, coffee). I usually drive to a nearby restaurant to eat breakfast. There are several places within driving distance (1-to-3 miles). Little to far to walk. Do not believe that the hotel has any shuttle service to take people to eat. Never asked about shuttle.

I have not had any problems with the noise from the highway. The O'Fallon area is a nice area to visit. Again, you will need a vehicle to get around the area. This is not a transportation friendly area (buses, rail & etc). A vehcile is needed.

“Avoid Forever or Sleep in your regular clothes”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

This hotel is run by folks that do not understand American Customs. In other words the employees are not from America and don't understand American style customs or the American way of life. This is not a complaint, yet the staff are unable to deal with angry frustrated customers and did not care to help. I am still waiting to hear from the Manager about my complaint.

I made the mistake of booking two nights with a non cancellation reservation. I stayed one night and left the next day. I stayed at another place for the second night.

This hotel reeks of some foul smell. The room had a couple of fly's and two or three small bugs in the shower area. This concerned me yet at 12 at night did not complain until morning as I was just to tired. The small bugs looked like bed bugs.

I did not even bother with the very sparse looking breakfast.

Wyndam needs to revoke this locations name.

Shame on you Super 8 for putting your name on this location. Makes me never ever want to stay in a Super 8 again.

“Great price and fine for a night.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

On entering the lobby, I smelled the burning incense (which I liked), and saw the pool to my right. Check in was fine and uneventful. My room was on the 2nd floor and there's no elevator, which might bother some people, but I was fine with that. Free wi-fi worked fine, the very large tv did also, as did the microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. I had one queen bed in my room, though there was a huge empty space where the 2nd bed would have been and all the other furniture was between the existing bed and the window. A weird setup, but no effect on my one night stay. The bathroom had the bowed out shower curtain, which I love, but only moderate water pressure and the toilet was not bolted down well to the floor. Also, I never understand why places like this which are commonly humid don't have bathroom fans. The wi-fi worked fine, but I had to call the front desk for the password as it wasn't in any of the literature in the room. When I tried to call the front desk with the room phone, I could hear them, but they couldn't hear me, so I had to use my cell. All in all, my bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was also. That's all I needed.

“Nasty place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

I don't know how this place received any good reviews. It is disgusting and run down. When you enter the place reeks of cigarette smoke and does not look clean. We arrived at night and were forced to go ahead and stay. What a mistake. At 1:30 in the morning we were awakened by some man yelling in the hallway and trying to get into our room. We think the guy was probably drunk and couldn't get his friend to open the door to his room which was across from ours. We could see two men (through the peep hole in the door) . Finally the man's friend opened the door and they continued to yell and be rowdy. We called the front desk and they must have said something to them and the noise stopped. We couldn't wait to get out of there! We chose this place based on other internet reviews and its proximity to the highway. All I can say is don't stay here--it is creepy and the reviews certainly don't match what we experienced.

“Nice Stay for the Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

The motel was nice for the price but not outstanding. I had made a mistake in the on-line reservation thru Super 8 (senior instead of AARP) but the clerk said it was the same rate (it was actually $6.50 more).
The room with single queen was OK for our stay. The room had a heavy disinfectent smell which we adjusted to. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The bathroom was older but OK. We had a good sleep on the bed.
We did not use the indoor pool but it looked nice. The breakfast was in a small area with only a few seats. It ended at 9 and a sign said you couldn't take anything to the rooms because of spills - both turned us off to get up for it.
While the desk clerk was not very friendly, and it was a typical middle-rate motel, I would recommend it as a good stay for anyone who is used to these motels.
