I am from California, my husband and I stayed at this la quinta for 5 nights visiting family in a king suite. The room was clean, great breakfast loved the fresh pancakes, gravy and biscuits! Hotel felt homily and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Location is really close to lots of restaurants and a shopping mall and they provide a free shuttle service which was perfect for me as I didn't rent a car. Definitely will stay here again!

This motel is a few miles away from the airport but with a frequent shuttle and prompt pickup upon arrival at the airport. The advantage to this distance is that you are not subjected to aircraft noise and can get a good night's sleep. When we arrived our room was not ready so the desk clerk provided us with an upgrade. We were assigned to a room with a king size bed, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot with a large table. The room was very clean and we encountered no problems. Desk staff was very accommodating and the breakfast was the typical La Quinta style providing bagels, waffles, toast, cereal blah , blah , blah. Filling and tasty.

The area is not seedy but rather a commercial area with restaurants, motels, gas stations and strip malls.

It should be noted that the LaQuinta Airport is actually not very close to MCI airport. Certainly not within view, it is 10-15 minutes by car and in a slightly seedy area. It is quiet and restful.

This is a 100% non-smoking hotel, however it attracts many smokers who huddled outside the front door while puffing away.

Desk staff were above average, both cheerful and helpful. They also have a small complimentary business center where you can print a couple of documents - boarding passes, etc. Several of the flight crews were staying at this hotel.

Breakfast was a bit above the standard fare. It was also presented more correctly with small refrigerators for cold items and warming stations for others. The area was attended by an older, very cheerful, efficient lady.

The king room was spacious, full appointed, new and clean. Bedding and towels are good.

Arena Tax: although this night was 'free' on a loyalty plan, I still had to pay a cash arena tax. Much more annoying was the car rental taxes - they amounted to nearly doubling [88% effective tax and fee rate] the basic rate including this arena tax -which added 21% to the basic rate. Now I did not go near the arena and would be happy without it, so I very much object to paying an inflated price for a bunch of spoiled millionaires. I think this is a very good reason to avoid flying into MCI.

Stayed here one night on a recent business trip. We stay at a lot of La Quinta's and the worst part about this one was the tiny wc. Very claustrophobic! The hotel is conveniently located to lots of shopping and some chain restaurants.
