When going somewhere I always use Trip Advisor. I was a little leery when I read the reviews on here. They seemed to cover every end of the spectrum. However, I had initially planned on taking my small dog and they seemed to be the most pet friendly hotel in the area.
When we arrived I was impressed. They place did look like a small apartment complex but the front lobby/breakfast area/front desk area was very clean and set up very nice. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet, informative, and quick. When we got to the room it was everything I had hoped for. Yes the sidewalks and wooden decks could use a little work but the room was very nice. We had a full kitchen (complete with fridge that had ice maker, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, and coffepot), very nice sitting area with fireplace (bring your own logs), very comfortable bed and linens, and a nice bathroom area. One reviewer had said there was no outlet for the blowdryer but there was one, it was just behind the towels. About two hours after we checked in we recieved a call from the front desk asking if we liked our room and if there was anything we needed. That is an example of great customer service! We slept very good the first night. The breakfast was wonderful! There was the normal continental breakfast fare with oatmeal, cereal, bagels, toast, english muffins, etc. There was also a pancake station where the kitchen attendent could make you fresh waffles. There was also healthy choices, which pleased me very much, such as yogurt, granola, and fruit. We didn't spend much time in our room on Saturday but we did use the kitchen Friday night. Saturday night we went out to eat (New Year's Eve) and then retired to our room to watch television. We fell asleep about eleven, yes we are boring), and were woken up about 12:30am by very load teenagers/college kids that were partying the next building over. I called the front desk and Michelle said she was the only one there but she would take care of it. We eventually fell back to sleep and were woken up again by the same party at 2:30. This time we weren't happy at all. But another call to Michelle and the party was busted up. I felt really bad for her and whoever had to clean the outside area because the partiers had left quite a mess of beer bottles, cigarette butts, cigarette boxes, Red Bull cans, and vomit.
All in all, very worth the money we spent on the room, which was a half price sale. I probably wouldn't pay the full $130 a night but would go again for the price we paid. It was very close to shopping, entertainment, and dining.
