My wife and I were celebrating a special weekend so we again visited the beautiful and classic Chaz at the Raphel on the plaza in KC. The Raphael is the oldest hotel on the plaza and has recently undergone a total, room by room renovated. The Raphael is geared to serving and everyone involved has been well trained to go out of their way to make their visitors feel like kings and queens! But the joy of the weekend away was the Friday evening dinner/entertainment we received from waiter extraordinaire, Josh Minnis. Josh has recently received his master’s degree in fine arts from UMKC. Until he is discovered and plugged into his main passion, acting, he is busy not only serving at the Chaz but also is involved in many volunteer activities helping to support that arts for young people in our area. If you can imagine “Father of the Bride” and Martin Short waiting on you, that pretty well fits Josh to the tee. I have never laughed so hard in all my life. Not only was the meal fabulous but the entertainment was free! If you want to laugh till your sides hurt, the New Theater Dinner Theater is great, but the place for fine dining and personalized entertainment is Josh at the Chaz!
