I usually stay in Choice Hotels but since the two Choice Hotels in Joplin are so lousy I went with my second favorite chain Marriott. I've stayed in several Townplace Suites and this one is pretty similar to those, nothing fancy but clean and reasonably comfortable.
My room was pretty small but layed out nicely so it didn't feel too confining. Townplace has a kitchen with full sized fridge, cook top and dishwasher which comes in handy if your sick of eating out at restaurants.
The bed was average, cleanliness was very good, water pressure was good, the hotel was quiet and looked very nice on the outside. It's a little more expensive then other hotels in Joplin and I'm not totally sure it was worth it but it was OK.
The tv was a flat panel and I assume it had a nice picture but the satelite was out so we had no tv to watch. Instead we streamed movies from Netflix which worked but barely as the Internet speeds were marginal at best. Also I should add that the wireless internet didn't work so we had to connect via wired Ethernet, so if you plan on connecting multiple PC's it's best to bring a wireless router with you if your staying here.
FInally the room had an odor of old food/cooking which is typical of extended stay type hotels from my experience, hard to get that stink out of the carpets, curtains, etc.
Overall the hotel was just OK, nothing special, I may or may not stay again when working in Joplin.
