It's not in my nature to give marginal reviews; I spend a hundred days a year in a hotel; and nobody is on their "A" game every day, but this property could really use a shake; and a review of the "spirit of service". Housekeeping in my room was always excellent and above any criticism; and I stayed here for over 30 days; but some of the public areas really needed better attention. The trash room often was not emptied for days, the elevator floor and walls were really in need of a good scrub, and there was a broken vacuum cleaner in the hall for a week outside the elevator, and the laundry room was always in need of a good sweep. It's a shame because the property is newer; but it won't look new for long at the current level of care.
Another reviewer is spot on about the front desk. They are civil; but not really seeming to be appreciative of your questions or concerns. Management's visibility is nill. I think I saw a manager on the day I checked out; but that was the only day I saw someone in authority; with no questions about my stay after 30 days; a competitive rate only gets so much good will from a guest. Most often the front desk staff is seated off to the side conversing with personal visitors or working on their computer.
Marriott has other property in Joplin; those being a Fairfield Inn and a Residence Inn. For a very small difference in rate; there is a huge difference in the professionalism and cleanliness in the properties. I'd be shocked if they were managed by the same company.
