i was in Joplin for a bowling tournament. get in the room, TINY. i got a queen suite. hot water didnt work in the sink in the main room, the pull out couch bed was broken so bad that you couldnt lay on it without falling through it, there were stains on every cushion. im telling you the 100% truth here when i say that there was a pocket knife with dried up blood on it under the couch. i went and told the front desk person, he just said "well it must have just been left by someone else" the T.V. was from the early 90's, pool was too cold to swim, room was just all over filthy, and i will never be staying in the Microtel in Joplin ever again. i will drive the extra 30 minutes to the Microtel in Miami Oklahoma if i have to because i only have good things to say about that one.

We really like the Microtel suite layout with work desk, dinning table and chairs, couch and coffee table and small kitchen counter fridge w/freezer. This had all that, BUT...When we arrived it took ten minutes to get someone to front desk. There was no/little hot water. No elevator. Breakfast, basic continental. Small indoor pool. Small, old TV in our room. Wi-Fi worked fine. Good Italian fast food steps away. Cracker Barrel, short walk. Many other stores and eateries nearby.
Nearby, most of the businesses are back in operation after that tragic F5 Tornado that hit here last May. It is amazing to see the 6 mile long, one mile wide swath it cut through town. So very sad but the spirit of the people here is also amazing. They love this town and are rebuilding. Our hearts go out to them.

This is the first review that i have ever written. This hotel is worse than horrible. It doesnt deserve 1 star. Microtel needs to know how bad this is. The matresses are stained all on the sides where you can see it. All around GROSS. Beware. L

I have one word for this hotel...TINY! Tiny pool, tiny TV up high on top of the wardrobe, and one tiny little package of shampoo for a room that sleeps 4 people. Every time we asked for something (like pool towels and more shampoo!) we were asked what our room number was. Are they going to charge me for this stuff?! A few good things were the beds were pretty comfortable and the window seat was kinda cool.
