I booked this hotel on Hotwire hoping it would have been the Hilton Garden Inn and was terrified when I read the reviews for this place but decided we would give it a shot anyway. The room was clean but old. One bed did have yellowed sheets so we slept in the other one and it was ok. Firm and not the most comfortable bed but it did the job for the price we paid. My feet did not turn black from the carpeting, it smelled clean when I walked in (no smoke seepage), and it was quiet up to when I was getting ready to leave when a maintenance guy had an hour long conversation in the hall. This hotel was rated 3 stars on Hotwire but I'd say it's more like 2-2.5 as far as the room is concerned. The bathroom was nice, huge counter and good water pressure but the fan was rattley and didn't seem to do much. My only real complaint is that the tv remote didn't work and there were only 5 or so tv stations. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless I got it for $40 a night or so since there are much nicer hotels right next to it such as Residence or Hilton Garden Inn a street over. Not fabulous but definitely not as disgusting as the prior reviews.

Hotel seems outdated and needs new everything. Staff was attentive. Very odd layout requires lots of walking to get lobby. Great location.

Cons: The entry looks old, the desk clerk was not friendly, the elevator smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, the hotel had a musty odor, the truck traffic noise from I-44 could be heard all night, the bathroom fan noise was loud, the breakfast buffet was overpriced, the room price was too high for the value presented, the hotel has a $25 fee that it can apply above the room rate at its option. Pros: the bed was comfortable and the shower worked well.

When you check in, you think the hotel is going to be fabulous! The common area is very nice. The rooms are horrific. I was slammed by a musty odor and woke up with no voice. My socks were brown on the bottom dirty carpet. The only saving grace was the fitness room. It was pretty nice....but if the rooms ares nasty, how often does that equipment get cleaned????
