We come to Sayulita because we cannot stand all inclusive's and love the laid back nature of the town. We are not the type of people who need to be pampered or be waited on hand and foot. I also work in the airline industry travelling for a living and see a lot of hotels.
We stayed one week in the Suite A option.
There were good and bad things to Casablanca
The Good
*The location is fantastic. Right on the beach.
*The grounds are very well kept and beautiful.
*Great Pool
*The groundskeepers and cleaning staff are very nice and work very hard.
*Rooms are clean and nicely appointed.
*Security Guard on duty all night.
The Bad
*The management sucks. The owners son is apparently the manger and won't lift a finger to make your stay better. Not very welcoming and if you ask him for anything he yawns and acts very put out like your inconveniencing him. No hospitality what so ever.
*If you try to pay by credit card they act like you are the devil.
*While they advertise that they supply beach towels and umbrellas they forget to tell you about the deposit on EVERYTHING. $20 for each towel, $20 for umbrella, $30 for room keys and this must be CASH. Apparently they think you are going to steal everything.
*You have about 4 minutes of hot water. Seriously don't even think about a shower that lasts longer you will freeze.
*The manger lives next door and had a LOUD party until about 4am one night. Music cranked till all hours. No consideration for the guests in the hotel at all. 10 feet from the main house which was rented for $2800/week. They were not impressed.
*We were given a suite on the ground level when the same suites with ocean view were vacant for the week? Why not make a good impression on the guests you have?
All in all it wasn't a bad place but could be an amazing place with better management. I would get a house rental for the same price next time.
