“Good and Bad but could be Incredible”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

We come to Sayulita because we cannot stand all inclusive's and love the laid back nature of the town. We are not the type of people who need to be pampered or be waited on hand and foot. I also work in the airline industry travelling for a living and see a lot of hotels.

We stayed one week in the Suite A option.

There were good and bad things to Casablanca
The Good
*The location is fantastic. Right on the beach.
*The grounds are very well kept and beautiful.
*Great Pool
*The groundskeepers and cleaning staff are very nice and work very hard.
*Rooms are clean and nicely appointed.
*Security Guard on duty all night.

The Bad
*The management sucks. The owners son is apparently the manger and won't lift a finger to make your stay better. Not very welcoming and if you ask him for anything he yawns and acts very put out like your inconveniencing him. No hospitality what so ever.
*If you try to pay by credit card they act like you are the devil.
*While they advertise that they supply beach towels and umbrellas they forget to tell you about the deposit on EVERYTHING. $20 for each towel, $20 for umbrella, $30 for room keys and this must be CASH. Apparently they think you are going to steal everything.
*You have about 4 minutes of hot water. Seriously don't even think about a shower that lasts longer you will freeze.
*The manger lives next door and had a LOUD party until about 4am one night. Music cranked till all hours. No consideration for the guests in the hotel at all. 10 feet from the main house which was rented for $2800/week. They were not impressed.
*We were given a suite on the ground level when the same suites with ocean view were vacant for the week? Why not make a good impression on the guests you have?

All in all it wasn't a bad place but could be an amazing place with better management. I would get a house rental for the same price next time.

“Beware before you book”

We have just returned from this hotel and the only thing good was the location.NOT all the rooms are air conditioned it was not very clean. We had no swimming pool when we arrived as it was being retiled They did move us to another room in the main house , we had to share a kitchen, which had a major ant problem. The owners son was not very helpful. We had no power or water for two days. The whole complex is very dangerous especially with small children or elderly adults as all the tiles are lethal when wet.My husband slipped and fell as did two prior guests.Beware before you hand over any money!!!!!!!

“Eaten alive...”

My daughter and I just returned from a 2 week trip trip to Sayulita. We stayed at Casa Blanca based upon traveler's reviews. The condo was clean and nice except for the particular type of unit that we rented. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit (type C). The problem was that only the bedrooms and bathroom were indoors. The kitchen, "living room", etc. were on an enclosed "porch". There was no air conditioning outside, only a ceiling fan and the mosquitos were terrible. The T.V. was outdoors and it was the only place we could access the WI FI for our laptop. Needless to say, we spent alot of time in our rooms. Other units were not designed this way but unfortuantely they were booked.

I would recommend Casa Blanca to other travelers, just beware of the 2 bedroom units unless you are prepared to be hot and bitten.

“Great "Front Beach" hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

My (new) husband and I just returned from our wedding trip to Sayulita. We stayed in the main house at Casablanca and I could not have been happier with our choice. Everything about it was perfect! We loved our house, our private pool and palapa, our view of the ocean, our location and also the people. The woman who did our cleaning was so nice, so understanding and did a great job with her work. The staff at the desk were also very friendly and helpful.

Our guests who stayed in the suites were very pleased with the accommodations as well.

I would recommend Casablanca to anyone with a group large enough to stay in the main house (it is seriously amazing!), or groups looking for the flexibility in scheduling that the suites allow.
