“Amazingly tranquil place”

We stayed at Casa Kukanna and were surprised to find it even better than we expected. The beds and linens were top quality and everything you need is supplied. The view truly is the best in Sayulita and the grounds are quiet and inviting. Suzanne takes pride in providing a place that has everything you need and making sure things are kept in good repair--not always easy in Mexico. There were a couple of minor repairs needed that were promptly completed. We liked not being right in town and found the 238 steps to the beach great conditioning for skiing and the walk to town down the road gave you a sense of place We felt perfectly safe and look forward to another visit soon--with friends and family.

“Casa Kukana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

I must say my Sayulita wedding/vacation was excellent certainly a place i would like to visit again. I was in town for a friend's wedding and the price for the rooms was an excellent value. The views from the infinity pool area were spectacular and felt completely safe my whole stay. be sure to bring some binoculars as you may catch a glimpse of whales off the points of the bay durring the whale runs. Santiago (the grounds keeper) and his family did a excellent job of making me feel comfortable and made sure everything was in order for me. Unfortunately i didn't really get to meet the owners as they lived in the levels above and had just returned from a long trip.

Sayulita is a great quaint little fishing/surfing village and the people were all friendly and most everyone spoke English as i didn't have time to learn Spanish as well as i would have liked. The food was great everywhere that i went and the night life was great, be sure to stop at the street taco vendor in town as they were the my favorites. I certianly recommend a horse back riding trip down the beach and be sure to check out Playa de Los Muertos. very nice small secluded beach and is not very far from the Casa. It is a bit a climb down steps or road to get to the main beach area so i would recommend renting a golf cart from town, having a car, or getting a taxi if your not up for walking.

I Definitely would like to make it back down there to do some more exploring of Sayulita and surrounding area and be sure I would definitely stay at Casa Kukana again !

Thanks Suzanne

“The best place where to stay with the most amazing view in Sayulita!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

I reserved in the last minute so I did not expect so much but what a nice surprise when I finally get to the house, just amazing, so clean, safe, it has everything you need! The best were the view you have, the infinity pool and the air conditioning in the bedrooms. Santiago and Azucena ans their kids did really good job taking care of the house and they were so helpful. Sometimes we needed a ride to town and they drove us. The road up hill is not in the best conditions, a 4 x 4 truck is the best option but instead of it you can get a taxi from town to the house for around $8 dollars. I definitly recommend Casa Kukana for your next to Sayulita!! Do not forget your mosquitos repellent.. it is a must to bring!

“PARADISE!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2011

We stayed in this villa for only 5 days as there were no other dates during our stay to Sayulita. ( I wished we could have stayed longer!!) This place is the most wonderful place I have ever stayed in. The grounds were absolutely fabulous and well manicured. It was an oasis in a very dry and sometimes very dirty Mexico. The gardener was there everyday watering and cleaning the yard. We spent a lot of time at the villa as it was so beautiful. The pool is small but enough for a nice cool dunk. It was beautiful to sit and watch down below. There is a spot to the right if the pool overlooking the bank where sat some chairs. We LOVED to sit there and look right down to the beach and watch the comings and goings below. I got up early in the ams and had my coffee there until it got too hot when the sun came out. The actual villa is amazing!! My two dtr stayed downstairs in the suite below us and loved that they had their own oasis. Upstairs is large and included a very well equipped kitchen with a stove/oven, toaster oven and coffee maker. They supply a large bottle of water on the counter. The deck is huge and had a beautiful table and chairs to look over the bay. The bedroom is very nicely decorated and the BR is beautiful as the shower has a large window that looks onto a beautiful bouganvilla tree. Both bedrooms are airconditioned if you want. I would definately recommend this place to anyone that is interested in a villa. The road to get to it from the beach is VERY steep but well worth the surroundings when you get up to the top. There is a road from in behind but it is a lot longer and you have to walk through some very dusty roads. Owner kept her distance but was available if we needed to talk to her. She and her family live in the 3 levels above. The gardener was very helpful and spoke excellent english so I often asked him questions.
