“villa gran”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The Good
1. the room was amazing, probably the coolest hotel room I have ever stayed in.
2. the golf cart made the stay much more enjoyable
3. The airport transportation was prompt and professional
4. location

The Bad
1. We never new how to use the phone, in room information would have helped.
2. breakfast was below average

Overall, this place does not have the training of a 5 star hotel, but it is beautiful and a place I will likely return

Sayulita
The town reminds me a lot of Thailand. I liked it because it was not overly touristy but not too small. Once it gets finished with all the infrastructural that they are putting in it will be so much better. The beach and the surf was excellent as well the weather.

Thank you for your recent review,,,and please let me take a minute to respond to the few less than perfect points you made. When a guest stays in the Grand Villa for 4 or more nights we are happy to include, at no extra cost to guest, the full time services of a butletr and a cook; this is inaddition to the regular maid service always offered. I am sorry that on your visit no one took the time to acquaint you with the use of the free telephones provided in the villa....this was an error on our part and we apologize to you. IN addition,,,please understand the restaurant on the ground floor...O Restaurant.....is under private managemernt and we have , unfortunately not enough imput into its operation. I will, however, inform the management of therestaurant today that you found breakfasts less than satisfactory and I hope they will attempt to provide better in the future. Perhaps if you could contact them directly....orestaurant@villaamor.com Victor will be able to make some amends to you,,,perhaps by offering some free breakfasts on your return. On our side please let us know when you will be returning so we may make amends for the lack of the 5 star service you should have recieved in the Grand Villa. Thank you,,,Barbara

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Villa Amor is so breathtakingly gorgeous it is beyond description. The Villas are magnificant, the staff is so nice, the beach is beautiful, and the spa treatments are devine. The food at the hotel is fabulous, but the proximity to town makes it easy and fun to explore other restaurants....fish tacos are the best!!!! I left my ipad there and they are so nice and sending it to me. I would HIGHLY recommend this place....it is heaven on earth in every way!!!!!!

Room Tip: ask for one of the villas....we had three women in Tranquila and it was perfect

“Super local hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Our family loved staying here...great open air suites, built up the hillside. Food could be more adventurous and more local, especially for dinners. Friendly, well done service at every turn.

Room Tip: Just a plunge pool on the suite patio...but you are right on the beach so it hardly matters.

“heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I stumbled upon this beautiful hotel after falling in love with the town of Sayulita. The room I stayed in (Hotelito) was more expensive than I planned to spend (originally had room booked in town for only 60$, but they screwed up my reservation). It was a blessing in disguise. Completely worth the splurge ($260 because of holiday week). Amazing views, romantic bed with mosquito netting, sound of waves crashing, great deck. The staff was also so friendly and they let me leave my bags there and use the facilities after I checked out (was not able to take advantage of the kayaks and surf boards for free, but they were available). I felt very welcomed and even came back for another night (even though had all-inclusive hotel paid for in Nuevo Vallarta) because I loved Villa Amor and Sayulita so much. The next time, I stayed in Las Olas- it was ground floor and no fridge or deck, but it was spacious and romantic and amazing for the price (78$). Was able to still use all the facilities, so very much worth it (would warn that it is a bit loud in the morning, which was fine for me, but others may have difficulty with it). I am trying to go back to Villa Amor asap.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We stayed for three night in Villa Amor in the Las Lanchas room. Amazing views with a wonderful open air living room. The rooms in the suite had windows that could be closed at night which allowed for a great quiet sleep with the A/C on.

Sayulita is a great little town with an authentic feel. Lots of ex-pats throughout the town. Everyone spoke English. The beach was a little obnoxious with all the people trying to sell you trinkets, but if you plainly told them no, they were on their way.

The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous. I would encourage all visitors to walk the whole compound as the different villas offer different views. We were there for a wedding at the Gran Villa at the highest point of Villa Amor and have never experienced something so breathtaking.

I felt safe and secure in Sayulita, and would encourage people to go if they had doubts.

Room Tip: Rooms with sliding doors will be quieter as well as cooler because of A/C
