The surrounding arches frame the lovely views looking out on the hills of Sayulita, the tropical gardens, the pool, the ocean and palm lined beach. There are Mexican tiled counters and modern appliances in the well equipped kitchen. Just off the patio is the small wading pool with a waterfall that leads down to the larger, deeper pool. A cobblestone stairway leads down through lush gardens of exotic heliconias, habiscus, palms, and gingers to your own private stairway, a minute walk, to the palm lined sandy beach. Just walk 10 minutes south to lively little fishing/surfing village of Sayulita, or north to find trails to the hidden pristine beaches to the north. Templito has two air conditioned King size bedrooms that are in separate, adjacent buildings. They each have gracious Mexican tiled bathrooms with showers, comfortable king size beds, handmade local hardwood furniture and beautiful regional artwork. The house has bath and beach towels, bed linens, purified, reverse osmosis filtered drinking water, and maid service. There is a cell phone provided, wireless internet access and an XM Satellite radio. The manager is available to help you with any of your needs and airport pickup. She can also arrange to have delicious local cuisine catered at the house. Templito is a perfect getaway for two couples, a couple with an older child or friend, or honeymooners. (Do to the separate bedrooms and the open architecture, we do not recommend this house for small children.) Templito is a peaceful, tranquil retreat where body and soul can relax, watch and listen to the ocean waves, the whales, exotic jungle and sea birds, and spectacular sunsets. Templito is a place to be at peace and harmony with nature and still have great access to charming Sayulita.

Relaxing, private, awesome!
A lot of vacation rentals portray themselves nicer than reality on TripAdvisor. Not this one: it exceeded our expectations! My family stayed in this amazing house for a week in August and had the best vacation ever. The house is gorgeous, very well maintained, and clean. Everything worked, and the beds were firm and very comfortable. The property manager was very friendly and helpful. She worked hard to fix the one problem we did have: the wifi was broken. We spent hours lounging around on the couches, in the pool, and down at the beach. It's a great place for relaxing, and very private. When we wanted more excitement, the downtown is about a mile away -- a nice walk, though we rented a golf cart due to the heat. Be advised, though, that the house is completely open to the air except for the bedrooms. We adored the fresh breeze, but we know that not everyone will. If you don't like lizards, this is not the house for you!

Really great - but....
The location, the property, is wonderful. I loved the pool. it is very private, but still it has a very open air feel. The furniture and beds were fine. We really loved the open air kitchen and the safe/secure bedrooms. Very little noise. There was a party next door, but you couldn't hear it in the house due to the steep hillside and solid walls. Great place to relax. Not sure I would bring kids here due to the various steep dropoffs. If you spend some time on google street view you will find the place a lot easier. It is on the far north edge of town. I would say it is not too far to walk into town, but we had a car, so we drove. This place has easy off street parking. Pros: - Very quiet and secluded. Nicely decorated - a special place. This is a place to relax. - Secure bedrooms with comfortable beds and air conditioning (see cons) - The pool is awesome - particularly when you figure out how to turn the filter on - A beautiful walk down a couple long flights of cobbled steps to the beach. - Nice landing on the beach where you can put some beach chairs and watch the sun go down. Cons: - We never saw any maid service during our 4 night stay. I suppose we could have called and asked but we didn't. We were told "once every 2 days or more if requested". - The results of the situation above - there was no clear place to empty the kitchen trash. - The stove/oven needs to be replaced. It works, but it is old. - Pool filter ran at weird times during the day. You can turn it on in the pool closet which is down some stairs near the pool's edge. - Never saw the groundskeeper that was supposed to visit daily(?). However, I think that might have been the people who helped us unpack our car upon arrival. Not sure. - I am a rocket scientist, and it's a good thing because you need to be to operate the air conditioner. It stopped working our last night there. Overall I would recommend this place, but I can't quite go to 5 stars due to the items listed.

Amazing Home, Amazing Vacation
I cannot say enough good things about our stay at El Templito! Audrey and Andrea were very helpful in setting up our lodging and also getting us set up with a golf cart for the week and a ride to and from the airport. The driver even stopped at a superstore so we could stock up on supplies. Can't wait to plan our next trip to El Templito again! Thanks guys!

Magical!
This place is really like paradise. I have never stayed anywhere that made me feel like I must be dreaming. The weather is always pleasant in Sayulita - not too hot, not humid, not wet, not buggy - so to stay at El Templito where the entire living, dining, lounge area, and kitchen are outdoors but private was magical. It is also only down a short staircase to the beach. The bedrooms each have their own bathrooms and plenty of storage space for long stays. The rooms are airy and makes you feel like you are enjoying the outdoors while being inside your room. The entire house is well-thought out and clean.

Completely relaxing
My partner Juli and I, along with my brother and some friends, rented Mariluna for five days in March. Our friend Leah had stayed in El Templito earlier in the year and had regaled us with stories of how beautiful and relaxing Sayulita is, and also how incredibly awesome Mariluna/Templito are - despite her building it up, the experience still surpassed expectations. In fact, we're thinking about making it an annual trip now!

Honeymoon/Vacation
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. We were married on May 21 and and landed in PV by noon the next day to start our week long honeymoon/vacation at El Templito. Cannot say enough nice things about the place. It was wonderful to say the least. The pool, the beach access and the place in general was incredible. It has a full kitchen to prepare meals which came in handy a couple of nights. We stopped on Bucharias and stocked up on breakfast/lunch stuff and planned on eating out for dinners. After we saw the fresh fish/vegetables, we gave it a go on our own for a couple of nights. There's a webber grill so grab some charcoal if you plan on grilling. We rented a car in PV to be able to be mobile and were glad we did. If you're planning on staying only in Sayulita then a car would not be necessary but we're glad we had one, keep in mind this is a 10-15 minute walk to el centro. We will be back soon.
