“Cooking classes with Chef Hugo are a MUST experience!”

My husband and I took an afternoon cooking class at Haramara and it was a real treat. Chef Hugo taught us some wonderful new recipes using only the freshest and healthiest of ingredients. How about chocolate and avocado mousse, jamaica flower tacos and rice water for a few twists on familiar favorites? He is very creative, personable and professional. If you like to cook and want to learn more about the local cuisine then this a MUST activity for you when you are staying in the San Pancho/Sayulita area. It was a 2 hour class and the time flew by. We will be back for another class soon!

“beautiful place horrible management”

I went to spend some days at the Haramara Retreat with my wife and our daughter the days between christmas and new year. The bungalows are nice located in middle of a hill in the jungle with beautiful ocean views. there is no electric light and the access to the bungalows is very difficult ( nothing for familys with children or older people ) There are no windows, the bungalows are completely open including the bathroom...
The service at the restaunt is good, the food they serve is not what they promise to be. We were welcomed with a cucumber salad and a lentil soup, not exacteley gourmet ...the next days didn¨t get much better. If you get lucky you will become a piece of fish some day.
All in all i can´t recomend this "yoga retreat "because of the miserable administration, lack of services and poor meals. The rates they charge for the bungalows are the same like in a luxury all inclusive hotel, so for this money ( yogi or not ) you will get much better deals in Sayulita or anywhere else.

“Beyond Beautiful”

This was my first-ever yoga retreat, and I really had no idea what to expect other than lots of yoga. I went with the VegNews Magazine group, so the entire kitchen was vegan for the week, and the food was amazing! The chef and his staff did a wonderful job and I think were equally impressed with how wonderful their food turned out. And beyond the delicious and abundant food, Haramara possesses a special quality of peace and tranquility that's so hard to come by in our world today. Of course, it's beautiful because of its location on the Pacific coast with its butterflies and hummingbirds and flowers and sunshine. It's also beautiful because of its lack of technology. You walk along pathways to your casita that's lit at night only by kerosene or candles. There's plenty of hot water for the showers that are enclosed in part by the hillside trees. You can meditate looking over the mountains watching the sunrise. There are breathtaking views along every path. There is a fair bit of walking up and down hills, and that's a good thing in our otherwise sedentary lifestyles we might have left behind. Our yoga instructor was amazing...so enlightening and encouraging and understanding. Of course, she was chosen by the people at VegNews. The staff at Haramara was exceptional at meeting and exceeding our needs. It was a week that transformed the lives of most of the people in our group who now have a much deeper awareness and understanding of how to thrive in this world.

Room Tip: Our two-bed casita also had its own hammock inside.

I travelled to Haramara for a 10 day Yoga retreat. Everything is absolutley amazing, you feel disconected to the outside world and you really get in touch with nature. The location is breathtaking, the yoga open air platforms make your yoga practica go to a completly different spiritual level. The rooms are fantastically integrated with nature, the staff is super friendly, the food is healthy and delicious. I do not have one single complain about my stay. I´ve been meaning to go back ever since my last stay. LOVEEEEEEED it.

Loved the accommodations, open air living, yoga facilities were exceptional , dining area was magical. Close to town (20 minute walk, 5 minute cab), for more good food, surfing, fishing or night life. Staff very accommodating.
