“Very nice place in a strategic town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Tarascon, even if not a very famous town to see in Provence, is located in a trategic position to reach easily every great places of the region: Nymes, Arles, Avignon, the Camargue, the Luberon and the Vaucluse. La Rue du Chateau is a B&B very charmuful with great hosts. We had been there in June 2010 and stayed in the red room that was quite large. The only problem that was the bathroom area was not separated by the rest of the room by any door, but just by a small staired corridor with a corner (we found it a bit uncomfortable). The breakfast was delicious with many bio-organic food and a lot of choice. The hosts were really helpful with many details of where to go and what to do and we really felt them like friends. The parking was really easy to find just 50-100 metres from the house. We really advice it.

“Charming and enjoyable”

We spent 4 days in the beggining of August the charming B&B in Tarascon, because it is in the heart of Camargue. If you decide to stay here you are near Avignoe, Arles, Saint Remy, and Ste. Marie de la Mar, therefore the location is perfect! Tarascon is wonderful little medieval village which is worth visitng as well. We had a great dinner at MEO, but you'll have to read about that under restaurants...
The host is a lovely woman who speaks excellent english, very cheery and extremely welcoming. Sh is ready and willing to give great advice on where to go, whats going on and the best roads to take in order to avoid traffic.
Breakfast was served in the courtyard and her homemade yoghurts where phenomenal.
The rooms are quiet, clean with a ceiling fan within complete bathroom facilities in the room.
Parking is 50mts away from the home.

“An Ideal Place to Stay in Provence”

While Tarascon itself is not a highlight of Provence, it is the perfect, centralized location to tour the entire area; and La Rue du Chateau is an ideal place to stay. Our room was elegantly beautiful and spotlessly clean. A delicious breakfast is served in a lovely courtyard, and every morning our hostess and owner of the inn, Martine, provided us with excellent advice on tourist destinations and restaurants. An excellent experience.

Martine was so helpful and made our stay enjoyable! We stayed in the Red Room...so comfortable and beautiful. This was our 7th trip to Europe and we rate this as the most authentic and nicest B&B we have ever stayed in. We highly recommend La Rue du Chateau!

“beautiful little gem - delighted we found it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

This was an super chambre d'haute hotel in every respect. The service provided by Martine and Bernard was very personal and friendly and their advice on local places to visit, good restaurants and travel adivce was great. Martine's advice on best time of day to visit etc was faultless and ensured that we saw things at their best -eg restaurants for a good view of the sunset etc.
We had The Red Room which was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated in charming provencal style which suited the old building perfectly. Great attention to detail and very comfortable.
Breakfast in the courtyard was a pleasure, with Martine's home made yoghurt and local fresh bread each day something to look forward to.
Tarascon itself has limited interest beyond the fabulous castle but is well located, within easy reach of many places of interest. A lack of good local restaurants meant having to take the car to nearby towns to eat. Shame as this meant not being able to enjoy a nice bottle of local wine with dinner.
In all, a great find. We had a wonderful time here and werevery well taken care of!
