Far from the madding crowd, we found the Mas du Pont Roman on a long awaited trip to Provence. It was our favorite hotel of all of the places we stayed during our 2 week trip. Marion and Christien are wonderful hosts, always ready for a chat and always willing to ensure
every traveler a comfortable, memorable stay. Christien grew up in nearby Forcalquier and both could recommend restaurants, places to see and interesting trips. But, even better than that, the hotel has been renovated to be comfortable and lovely. Each of the rooms is named after an herb. (We stayed in "sauge"--sage.) There are beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools--nicer amenities than most large hotels. But the atmosphere is pure (unadulterated) Provence. We sat out in the gardens enjoying wine every evening and looked forward to every return from each day's sightseeing. Marion prepares delicious "petit dejeuners" and there are wonderful restaurants for dinner close by. We cannot wait to take our family, or to return with just the two of us. The lavender, flowers and scenery are beautiful, but the gracious hospitality even better.
