We went out of our way to visit the spa after reading the article in Conde Nast Traveler from Summer of 2010. They did handle our reservations well, but I was very disappointed with the deluxe facial treatment. Twice during the treatment the esthetician just left the room. The 4 and 5 star spas that I have been to in the USA the therapist would never leave but instead uses the time while a masque is on to add a hand or foot treatment. After traveling so far, I was disappointed. The facility was lovely and the hotel and setting were picturesque.

I liked this Relais and Chateaux property alot. Unlike several of the hotels we have stayed at in France this place was not stuffy at all and manages to combine a historical building with modern amenities. Our room was small but very nicely furnished with soft modern bed, fast internet connection and good shower and bathroom. The staff are quite young but very enthusiastic and helpful. There is none of the price gouging you see at other historical hotels in france - there were nice complimentary nibbles and half bottle of champagne in room and drinks were fairly priced. Hotel reminded me alot of Ousteau de Beaumaniere in Les Baux, but considerable less expensive. Deserves to do well.

We stayed at Le Couvent back in March and planning to go back again. The rooms have been decorated with lots of attention to detail. The bed was so comfortable and it had a little window just above so you could fall sleep watching the stars. The bathroom was great with a big walk-in shower and fabulous bath.

We ate the two nights in the casual restaurant and the food was very good and good value for money. Their restaurant is also a great place to start the day with a good buffet breakfast.

Finally the surroundgings were great to explore, including Focalquier, etc. The staff were very helpful,specially the receptionist and the maid who came in the evening to do the turn-downs.
