“Was not worth the money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

To start when I check in I was not told that the internet was not working thats kinda the whole reason I stayed their was a big banner on the building that said free WIFI. I also found french onion dip in the mini fridge an the fridge was just dirty their was also a burn mark on the wall I took pics of all this and I have called the front desk three times asked for the manager to call me back the next morning an got no call nothing this is not very good customer service. When I spoke to the GM she didnt seam to care was very rude an told me that I was not going to get my money back
As you can imagine, the experience fell far short of my expectations -- considering the great deal of money I have spent with your company during my multiple visits. I also frequently recommend your accommodations to other travelers. But after all this i am done

“Better than it appears.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

This hotel looks like an old dump from the outside. But the rooms are pretty modern and clean. They are also clearly making renovations to make it better. The parking is a little tight but the breakfast was great.

Room Tip: The back building has less road noise.

“Good place for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

We spent 2 nights at this motel and overall were very pleased with it. We stayed in the newer section in the back which has nice large rooms. Our mothers stayed in the older section in back and the rooms were significantly smaller but still an OK size. The rooms were much nicer on the inside (very clean, well maintained) than the outside of the building was but the outside is getting a facelift which should make it have better street appeal when it's done. Beds were comfortably firm, not hard, with full support pillows.

They've recently added a new breakfast room and now have a hot breakfast that our mothers said was very good (my wife and I did not try it ourselves since we rarely eat breakfast).

Location is great for ease of getting into the tourist section of Hannibal.

A few drawbacks that bothered us some and might cause us to consider staying elsewhere next time:

1) Not enough parking for all of the rooms they have. If they are full and you don't get there early enough in the evening you might need to park on the side street.

2) Parking spaces in the back are difficult to get into and back out of with larger vehicles. We have a Ford Explorer and it was not easy for me to manuever.

3) The only smoking rooms are in the front section facing a very busy and noisy street.

4) Traffic noise is considerable in the front section and still pretty loud in the back section. Need to keep the A/C-heater unit fan on all the time to drown out the road noise.

If road noise and tight, limited on-site parking is a concern for you, you probably should consider staying elsewhere. Otherwise, this is a good hotel value and a really nice place to stay.

““Just what we were looking for””
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

While visiting Hannibal, MO my wife and I stayed at this reasonably priced, “very clean”, Econo-Lodge with spacious bed room and large bath. Just stayed two nights but enjoyed having the “new” in-room coffee machine, microwave, refrigerator and appreciated the free wireless Internet access. The towels and bed linens were fresh and new, bed and pillows were comfortable and the in-room air conditioner was very quiet and efficient.

Our free continental breakfast was more than adequate. The hot sausage, biscuits and gravy added a nice hometown touch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Manager (Marti) was exceptionally friendly suggesting several good, reasonably priced restaurants for lunch and dinner.

We’ll be back!

Not a fancy hotel as are most Econolodges, but a very pleasurable stay with a clean, spacious, comfortable room. Ask for the back building to keep away from the street noise.
