We stayed here upon a recommendation from a friend that swore it was the best place in Hannibal to stay, although she was probably right, this place is worth driving past and not turning around.
The hotel staff was very un-personable and loud in the early morning hours as we were located near the housekeeper stock room on the first floor, not to mention that I spotted three of them hovered over the computer in the guest business center on more than one occasion. The room was fair at best as the carpet was old and rank, the shower was old and looked dingy, the bed was not that great and the pillows were flat. The heater made awful noises that sounded like someone was clicker training a dog all night. It seems that I was there at the same time another user was because it smelled like sewer for a while and the floor in the breakfast room was all torn out, with NO sign saying anything about what happened, any apology for the pungent smell nor where to find where the breakfast had been moved to, we ate elsewhere that morning. The morning that we did get to eat breakfast there was little selection of anything. As a moderate traveler that has stayed at numerous hotels, this is by far the WORST Holiday Inn Express that I have ever stayed at.
The only kudos that I give this place is the lot was cleared quickly from all the snow that we had so it was easy to get in and out.
