Crescent Hotel, Kansas City MO "Filth and Danger"
Date 9/22/07.
First it was very hard to find. And when we did finally arrive there we were shocked. The surrounding area is very run down and you feel like you are in "no mans land." The interstate runs right in front and all around is torn down and empty lots. But that was only the beginning. We checked in and went to our room. Wow. Filthy is all I can say. I wish now I had taken pictures of it. There were things spilled on every counter and table. Crusty!!!The bathtub and shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. We quickly left the room and went to the front desk to complain. As we were talking to the man at the front desk two ladies came up and started yelling at him that they had just went out for dinner and that everything had been stolen from their room. The guy didn't say sorry or anything. just said "I don't know what we can do except call the police. Needless to say. we asked for our money back. He said he couldn't do that and that we would have to take that up with hotels.com. We said we couldn't stay in a place like that and walked out. We drove around until 10:45 before finding another hotel. when we contacted hotels.com they called the hotel and asked about it. The hotel said there was no problem and that we stayed there that night. An outright lie. I didn't stay in two hotels that night and have proof I stayed in another hotel but hotels.com seem to not have heard of the saying "the customer is always right." They believed the hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel or hotels.com as they do not support the customer.
