Make sure you get a receipt when you check out or otherwise you will end up with extra charges on your credit card and General Manager Ricky Patel will refuse to refund these charges! Better yet, do not stay here--it is filthy!

We just needed 1 night stay as we were passing through KC & came across the Rodeway Inn & didn't expect a 5 star stay but expected cleanliness, at the very least. When we checked in, the clerk sits behind an un-inviting, thick, glass wall & wasn't very friendly so we noticed right away as we were checking in that this wasn't going to be a great experience but it was late & we just needed to get to bed because we had an early morning ahead of us. He had us park on the back side of the hotel that was very dimly lit & that faced a wooded area...it felt like a great place to get mugged or worse! On the way to the room, the hallway was very musty smelling & once we got into the room, there was only one light that worked...the rest of the light bulbs were burnt out so it was very dim but you could still obviously see that they hadn't dusted or vacuumed in months or even years! The bathroom counter was dirty, there were dead bugs on the floor & the toilet seat had urine all over it!! The AC & mini-fridge barely worked. But the flat screen TV worked, that was very out of place. We kept our shoes on the entire time and kept our clothes in our bags because we were so disgusted! Once we turned down the bed, we noticed that there was make-up on one of the pillows so it’s obvious that the sheets hadn't even been changed & who knows in how long! We immediately covered the bed back up and ending up sleeping fully clothed & using our own blanket & putting jackets on our pillows to cover up the filth! We also noticed chunks of mud on the lip of the box spring! Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, we realized that this place is connected to a night club and you could hear the music booming through the paper thin walls, all night long. We got up first thing the next morning & took showers in our flip flops & got ready as quickly as possible & got the heck out of there! We cannot believe this place is still in business…it really needs to be condemned! Needless to say, we would NEVER recommend this "roach motel" to anyone!!

The housekeeper stole 900 dollars out of our room. The manager, Mr. Patel, put 300 dollars in extra charges on our credit card. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE STAY HERE. We hadnt stayed in this hotel in over 8 years but we had heard that the rooms were nicer than they used to be. The reason the rooms are nicer is because they steal out of your rooms and overcharge your card. THIS IS A SHAME AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO BUSINESS.

I booked two nights at the Grandview Rodeway and it was a mistake. The hotel is worn out. Shabby halls and rooms. Bullet proof glass at the front desk (really). When I had a family member medical emergency and had to leave after the first night, I informed the desk at half past noon that I would not be staying the second night. The hotel's cancelation deadline was stated to be 7:00 P.M. on the internet booking site. I was told that only the manager could "back it out of the system" and he was not at the hotel (12:30 on a weekday, where did he go?). After three calls from the road during the rest of the day, I was told to dispute it with my credit card company if I wanted to, Rodeway would charge my card for the night I did not use. I will never use Rodeway, or any of Choice Hotels International's other chains, Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion, Econo-Lodge, Sleep Inn.
