“AC didn't work!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2010

OK, it's September in Missouri, and it's way cooler outside than it is inside. Way cooler. The window does NOT open. The only way the AC works at all (and that's inadequate) is on LOW. The management was well aware that this was defective -- when I complained at checkout, they said, "it operates better on low". We were so miserable. Obviously, on Sunday night we're not going to get it fixed, we'd have to move ourselves and our four dogs (for which we paid $10 per night per dog) to another room. . . might as well pack up and leave. We might have been better off.

“Disgusting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2010

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Ive stayed in a number of hotels through out my life and this one was beyond nasty! The bathroom was so filthy I would not even sit on the toilet nor take a shower. There was dirt all over the floors like they had not been swept in months. The carpet was so dirty I wouldnt even walk on it without my shoes on. The alarm clock had sticky stuff all over it. There was something that looked like blood all over a wall. It was really a terrible experience. When we complained to the front desk they did NOTHING. Im not a picky person but when I go to stay in a hotel I expect it to be atleast clean!! Honestly, do not stay here. It is a little cheaper then surrounding hotels in the Grain Valley area but I recommend you spend the extra 20 dollars a night to be able to feel clean while your there. I have no ONE good thing to say about it. Seriously, take my advice and stay somewhere else.

“Threw my stuff away”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2007

I stayed here a total of three weeks while on a work assignment. On a weekly rate the price is a very reasonable $197.00 inclusive of all taxes. This is competitive to apartment rates and best of all no leases required. There is free wireless Internet which is a must for business travelers and the reasonably sized rooms have a microwave and small refrigerator. During my stay they also upgrade all the rooms with 26 inch TVs.
There is twice a week maid service on the weekly rate and this turned out to be the downside. Being a contractor I had some of my stuff stored in my own plastic garbage pail as I have to be prepared for all living conditions and have to travel efficiently. Apparently the maid took it upon herself to empty out my "storage bin" containing well over a hundred bucks worth of vitamins and whatever else I might have had in there. This made my stay overall an unpleasant one. The other downside of Grain Valley is there is absolutely nothing here other than two gas stations and convenience stores on either side of the exit. It is five miles down the road to Blue Springs for restaurants and more like 10 to Independence, MO which is the closest form of civilization for the business traveler.
