Love this place! I always stay here when going to the casinos or concerts at the amphitheatre. More like an apartment building than a hotel! Very peaceful and quiet, if you like your privacy this is the place to be! Located within walking distance of a gas station and some restaurants, and in a great location just off I-70. Only about a 5-10 minute drive to the Mills mall as well. Downtown St. Charles, which is beautiful and has great local shops and restaurants, is only about a 10 minute drive as well. I've never been treated badly by the staff either, everyone has been very friendly. Love coming to this hotel and I will be back!

I agree that some of the halls smelt like smoke, but my nonsmoking room was clean and fresh. The bed was comfy, tv had good selection, wifi was fast, and front desk was friendly. Overall, good value and convenient.

I am into my third week staying here while my home is being remodeled. I could not have picked a better place even though it's "value priced". A clean, comfortable room with a friendly, helpful staff. I want to be left alone most of the time but, when I need something, they jump right to it. For example, since I was going to be here so long, I was more into finding things that needed fixing. When I mentioned the faucet dripped, they were there in 15 minutes and fixed it. It was housekeeping that noticed my door didn't always click shut so she called maintenance. Again, 15 minute response and he got it fixed. Housekeeping even double checked with me while I was there that I wasn't running out of anything.

And it's quiet. My first week I almost thought I was the only person on this floor. I do notice more people on my floor this week but, at night, it's quiet.

This is a business park so you have McDonald's and a gas station next door and Burger King down the street and that's it. But you're only a short drive from from any amenities you want since you're next to two major highways.

Wireless internet is free, fast and works consistently and very well. As a software engineer, this was very important to me.

The room comes with a full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and two-burner electric stove. The TV comes with a DVD/VHS player and is only standard def but, in 2012, the rooms will all be remodeled and upgraded to include flatscreen HDTV. The beds are Sealy Posturepedic with snuggable pillows. The rooms might just now be showing their age but I still find them clean, comfortable and warm. Shampoo, soap, dishwashing detergent and towels are all supplied along with extra trash bags.

The staff, some of whom have been with this hotel since it was built, seem genuinely glad to see you and don't mind stopping for a quick chat. And that includes everyone from the front desk to maintenance to housekeeping.

I couldn't be happier and highly recommend.

this candlewood sucks. It is in an industrial area next to a Residence Inn. Stay there cause the Candlewood is rundown and very smoky. WAY to many smoking rooms. Try another part of town.
