We booked this hotel through a travel web site that did not tell you the name of the hotel until you have paid for the room. Our reason for travel was to return to St. Louis for a friends wedding, since we lived in St. Louis prior to moving to Florida. I got a really good rate, around $27 per night, and since it was in the Westport area I went ahead and booked the rate. Westport is a good area to stay in if you are spending most of your time in the areas out side the city, such as we did. It is very easy to get to the airport if you have an early flight out, such as we did. There are a lot of places to eat in the Westport area, but not a lot of things to do during down time, you have to go elseware (shopping, movies, etc.).
The StudioPlus had a very nice staff working there, but the place needs some help. The hotel is not much to look at. You do not get daily made service, and you have to exchange your towels at the front desk for clean ones. The hotel seemed to have 3 floors, but did not seem to have an elevator. You have to use the stairs in the lobby or the sides fo the building. The room and hallways seemed to have a strange odor, I think a combo of people cooking in their rooms and old age. We bought an airfreshner at a local food market. The room had a few stains on the wallls that seemed to be there for a while. There where areas in the room that you could tell had some repair work done, and the work was not done well. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable. We had asked the front desk for more pillows, and they only had one extra to give us.
The unit did have a refrigerator which was nice to keep drinks and leftovers from dinning out. The unit also had a stove and microwave, but no pots or pans are provided. I asked the fornt desk about it and they said they have some for use if you need it.
For the price, the stay was good. On return visits I will probably look to stay somewhere else, unless they upgrade the place.
