My wife and I went for a mid-week two day getaway 12/2011 to St. Louis. The location couldn't be better: downtown Clayton (suburb of St. Louis), close to the airport, on the Metro route (2 blocks away), near parks and zoo and hospitals and plenty of shopping, etc. The hotel provides free shuttle service two and from the airport. The driver was incredibly friendly, and saved us from a driver who unexpectedly jumped the raised median to get into our lane and the spot we were occupying. They also provide shuttle for guests to sites within about 5 miles of the hotel. In our case they suggested we take their shuttle to the St. Louis Ballet, as we had tickets to see the Nutcracker! When they found out it was our anniversary a front desk clerk insisted they upgrade our room to the club floor and all its amenities, and there was a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting for us in our room the first night!! Throughout our stay, employees speak to you, smile, and provide great information. If you want great service this is THE hotel in St. Louis to stay in.
The hotel is SPOTLESS. Recently remodeled, everything from the beautiful foyer to the well appointed rooms "shines." I mentioned to the front desk about a faucet beginning to get loose on the bathroom sink and it was repaired pronto! The hot breakfasts were wonderful, the daily newspaper was appreciated, and it was QUIET and the beds and a selection of pillows on the bed made sleep a dream! I could say more but I think you get the picture. On top of all this the price was very reasonable!
