“Quaint oasis”

Seven Gables is a beautiful old hotel in a great part of Clayton. The king courtyard view room was spacious and clean. Be aware that you will have to either carry your luggage up fairly steep stairs or have a bellman do it for you. The staff are wonderful, and the warm chocolate chunk cookies are delicious. The staff in the attached pub are fun, and they have an awesome selection of scotches. I would have given this 5 stars except for the $17 a night parking charge. Highly recommend this hotel.

Thank you for posting such a nice review.

We are thrilled that the staff was welcoming and that you enjoyed the pub. We do pride ourselves on caring a wide ranges of scotches and beer.

We understand your dissatisfaction with the parking cost. Parking in Clayton is very limited unless you own a garage which all charge or a lot which all lots also charge and the hotel strives to stay competitive if not lower than surrounding garages and lots.

We hope to see you again and appreciate your feedback.

Warm regards,
Stacey Wallace

“Small but Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Nothing real fancy, but very clean and quaint. It provided a nice break from our daily routine for my wife's birthday.

“Comfortable Inn amid business district”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We wanted a comfortable stay while in STL for a friend's wedding. The double queen suite we got was beautiful and spacious. The service was great and the location is right by some of Clayton's great restaurants. It's not inexpensive, but definitely a good value.

Happy New Year and thank you for taking time to post your review.

We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay! The staff here takes such pride in providing superior customer service and making our guests feel welcome.

The hotel is in such a great location, you have such a variety of restaurants most within walking distance, shopping and minutes from a variety of places for site seeing. The neighborhood is very safe and once you walk through the hotel doors you forget you are in the city.

We look forward to having you visit us again.

“Great "homey" hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

Although we visited for pleasure and the hotel was in the business district, it was very accomodating and warm. The best attached Irish pub with the friendliest staff and an overall pleasant stay. Nice, spacious clean rooms and comfortable beds!

Room Tip: We had no preference and still don't. No views, but very comfortable.

“A charming hotel.”

The word to describe this inn is quaint. It is in a great area with tons of restaurants and shopping withing walking distance, and the Galleria is a 5-minute drive away. The hotel staff was very good. The room we had was really cute and quite large. The only complaint I have is that we were charged $17 per night to have our car parked in a lot across the street. On the other hand, there isn't really any street parking available. I would go back there any time.

Room Tip: There are no elevators, so if you would need one it would be best to stay on the first floor.
