I needed a place to stay during the recent World Series. I had Game 6 tickets and all the brand names hotels within a reasonable distance of Busch Stadium were either full or upcharging prices. The Seven Gables Inn is a very comfortable Inn that you'd more likely expect to find in New England. Rooms are comfortable but ask for the executive size room. Despite age of building, rooms are quiet. There is a bar/restaurant/pub off the main entrance and breakfast is included. The staff is helpful and friendly but not overbearing nor do they have their hand out every five minutes. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms have appropriate amenities. You step outside into Clayton a modern, skyscraper filled city but inside this Inn it feels decidely Dickensonian. Prices are reasonable, generally below upscale chain prices.
