I stayed on Dec. 31st & 1st of Jan. 2009. My stay was very pleasant and satisfactory. I was afraid of late night noise because of New Year but I had very quietful sleep. I loved the artwork of rooms. My bed was very comfortable & room was nice and warm. Breakfast in the morning was ok. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. My room was nicely done next morning. - James - Dallas, Tx

We recently reserved a room at the Carthage Inn then due to a death in the family requested to cancel our room only hours later. We were told that we could not get our money back and that the room was ours until 11:00 am the next day. We elected to stay the night anyway and when we returned to our room that night discovered that it had been rented out to someone else. We went to the office to get our money
back and they said we would have to take another room because they couldn't refund our money. The room they gave us was on the second floor and no elevator was available. I am somewhat handicapped and requested a room on the first floor. They gave us a room with two full beds, (there were only two of us) and the room was filthy.
There was dust on everything and dirty linens in the tub.
There was trash on the floor and the carpet needed vaccuuming.
Needless to we will never stay there again

Had a very pleasant stay there.
The owner is very friendly and will chat with you as long as you want to talk. He always has candies out for you or your kids. Mostly, it's a good VALUE - it's cheaper than most of the other hotels in Carthage.
They also have a free continental breakfast every morning to get you started before heading out.
