“A good place for the homeless”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

If you "need" a roof and a bed then this place shouldn't be a problem. If you need a nice roof or a nice place to sleep then keep looking. The hotel was dirty, muggy with a mold/mildew smell. The only staff to speak English was the clerks. One clerk (so he says) wasn't knowledgeable enough to help while the other one (she) was quick to say, "That’s not my job!"
Even after running the water for fifteen minutes all I could get was warm water.
They couldn't move me to a functioning room because the manager wasn't there but they wanted me to move the next day (after all was unpacked) because of a staff party.
If you are homeless and need shelter then this hotel is for you, other wise stay away.

“Disgusted and dissappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

Rented 4 rooms...209, 213, 217, 218 on 10/16/10 for a trip to the zoo..Specifically requested indoor pool. NO POOL AVAILABLE. Nasty entranceway, leaves, debris, etc. dated enterior design. Upon entry to room, we immediately noticed holes in some walls, torn wallpaper border, torn carpet, broken latches to balcony and cigerette butts under one bed and on balcony of another.
In 217 there was long dark hairs in the shower and a towel was used and not cleaned. Had to relocate because our 10 mo. old grandson touched air condition unit and the whole housing fell off, not that it worked anyway.
Horrible stay, will not recommend to anyone, should be shut down by the health dept. literally....

“BLACK MOLD EVERYWHERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. I was in for the Joyce Meyer Convention, I have never been so horrified in my life. I traveled with my Mom and Dad who both have breathing problems anyway, My husband and I and our 3 girls. My family is all congested due to the mold. My mom was trying to clean some of it up and it turned the nice white towel into a very black nasty towel. You can smell the mildew everywhere. They advertise that they have a pool, but have not for a year and the pool sits empty. They did not give enough towels and washcloths. The staff was not helpful with anything. They could not keep the breakfast items stocked because they ran out, when they know a year in advance how many women show up to this conference. In other words I went on a vacation to come home sick and nurse everyone back to health. I will find another hotel for next year and recommend that this place is shut down. It was that disgusting.

“No hot water, no manager on site, noisy through the night”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

We stayed at this location for one night since it appeared to meet out criteria of being close to the rental car return and the airport. Further, Ramada had been a trusted brand in past travels. We had no hot water on our arrival. I called the desk and was assured that a plumbing company was on site and hot water would be available within the hour. It was late, we were tired and drained from attending a family funeral, and decided to wait until morning. The airconditioner started and stopped throughout a warm, humid MO night. All in all this was a miserable experience. We rose early -- still no hot water whatsoever. I called the desk, asked for the manager and was told that no one was on site until "about 11:30 AM, but our flight was due to leave at 12:15 PM.

“Don't expect much then you won't be disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

My boyfriend and I stayed here one night (July 15, 2010). I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor (as always) so I was totally prepared for the worst at this hard to get to hotel. It is OLD, OLD, OLD and no one (owner) cares one bit because people like me (and you if you don't believe me) unwittingly pay money to stay there. I heard one of the maids ask her supv. for a vacuum cleaner and was told "you know we only have 2". The male check in clerk was TOTALLY unprofessional. He was very tired and cranky because he had worked too many hours that day (and many other days). He told everyone who would listen how upset he was. He whinned so bad that I wanted to send him home and take his place but then everyone would blame ME for the bad condition of the hotel instead of him so I didn't volunteer. The room was not cool as it should have been (we were on the 4th floor) because the air conditioner didn't work properly. I tried not to ever look down because the rug gave me the hebegebees! (that means a really bad stomach ache from seeing something nasty). I was prepared however, with a pair of houseslippers. There was some good news: There was a ancient, computer in the lobby with free internet. Parking was free. The TV worked. The king bed was comfortable. The shower was not in good repair no surprise there, but I overlooked it because the shower spray and the shower temperature were both good. Our room also had a fridge that worked so we were able to store water and soda for the evening. I would NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR stay here again however. If you are bidding on Priceline in this area BEWARE! Go ahead and spend those few extra dollars for another star level. If you are paying regular price, pay more and stay someplace else. There's no reason on earth to subject yourself (or your family, etc.) to a hotel like this. I didn't see any bugs but in a run down mess of a place like this you know they are there someplace. They didn't have to worry about us eating the sparse free continental breakfast. If you don't expect much or care where you stay or how your surroundings look then you won't be disappointed.
