“ANY CHANGES HERE??”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

The reviews are worse than terrible. This used to be a nice place back in the day.

*** What is being done right now to make this an enjoyable place. I am planning a trip soon and wanted to stay here but not sure if I should.

I will be here for a week. I do not want a week in hell.

The sooner I know something the better.

“DUMP,NOT WORTHY OF BEING CALLED A HOTEL”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

I hope this reaches everyone that even considers this dump. We used to have a social gathering there once a month, but every month got worse. There elevators never work, they have so many fire code issues, there is mold all over this hotel. When we had our last visit there in June,2011 i was given a room that had no bed in it and mold all over the floor and walls. Our group had to sign a contract with this hotel and it was supposed to give us two ajoining rooms, well since the room i wass given was not fit to stay in i asked for what my contract had stated 2 ajoining rooms.I spoke to some clown who was supposed to be handleing any problems and all he did was get rude with me, so when i asked to speak to the person whom i signed the contract with they got her on the phone, after explaining my problems she informed me it was her "day off "and if i didnt like it our group could go somewhere else.Well i couldnt do that or else i would have because we had several people coming from long distances.SO i took the one ajoining room.I was never offered another room for the one without the bed and mold, the guest in our group were put on the third floor when there were no working elevators. The next morning we had to help one of our party members down three flights of stairs who is on a walker. She had to crawl down dirty nasty stairwell and not one person from their staff offered to help, when she complained they offered her $5 off her bill, REALLY!! There are no fire hoses in the stairwells, smoke detectors with bags covering them or they were pulled from the walls. After contacting this person in sales who signed a contract with me via email i was told to stop sending emails or they would call the police for harrassment. All i can say is there a better missions and YMCA's in the area that are cleaner and better to stay in then here!! RUN AWAY DONT EVEN CONSIDER THIS RUN DOWN DUMP ! The management (John Bannister) and the sales (Dianne Hill) are not fit to run a hotel.

“NEVER AGAIN”

This hotel was terrible. When we arrived, no one was hardly around.this should have been a sign. Nevertheless we paid for our room and got our keys. The hallway was crummy and not too clean. The room seemed nice at first until we tried to flush the commode which did not flush too well. If we had did our homework in checking out all the other comments, we never would have come here. At 2:00 am in the morning, someone called our room asking if it was occupied. of course we said yes and after that someone was trying to get in our door. This took the cake, my husband screamed out that we were in the room but at that time we were already getting dressed and we went out without any hesitation with all our belonging. We were too afraid to stay the rest of the night. This place should be closed down. It is unsafe and is not fit for anyone. There were parties going on and very noisy. Not a place for good people. It was like a party house for prostiitutes and drunks. Never again, will we be uninformed....... Dont do this to yourself...................flee for your life .............dont even visit...............

“Honeymoon from hell”

My husband and I always stay at this hotel, when it was the Ramada. We never had any problems and even liked that half the hotel was closed off, but this go round it is now being called the STL motel/hotel...something. The manager is an absolute idiot and this place has turned into a crack house. The whole time we were there, there was no hot water, mold on the balcony and the lobby of the hotel was hot. When advised about the hot water we were told we should have left the first night, then she had the nerve to call us down stating she could not find the money we had paid for our stay. Stay away from this place, it should be condemned, I would not put a dog in the place. Her name is Diane and she should be ashamed of herself. This was supposed to be a great little getaway for my husband and I, but now we wish we would have just stayed home. It may be boring, but at least it is clean.

“Wow”

I've stayed in a number of cheap hotels. Paying less usually means you're giving up a certain bit of quality. But it shouldn't be a stretch to have a clean building that doesn't resemble a crack den.

The foyer smelled like a hobo had been using it for a urinal. The clerk, who was nice, was unable to print our receipt, nor could we use the business center to print our boarding passes. The elevator by the lobby was broken. The one that worked had lights broken out of in and lurched as if it were about to fall (in a taller building, I would have been terrified).

And the room... where to start? It had a musty reek about it. Upon taking off our shoes, we felt the damp carpets through our socks and wore flip-flops for the rest of the evening. The hot water knob fell off in the shower. A hair-choked plug assembly lay on the ledge of the tub. The toilet seat had what can only be described as "debris" on it, making you want to hover when nature called.

Again, it is possible to travel cheaply without having such low quality. This place should be an embarrassment for the owners, maybe that's why I had to search for it on this site as it's not currently listed as a Ramada.

Sleep in your car. It's cleaner.
