“Great Get Away!”

We live in Joplin, Mo, and wanted a little Get Away, this was perfect!! Prices were awesome for what was included. I paid $55 tax included. Only thing missing was the continental breakfast, but we survived. My boy had such fun in the Splash A Torium, also had fun playing pool, air hockey, and mini golf. Being we took our get away in January there was not much to do in Branson, so we spent most of our time playing at the hotel. I would definitely stay at the Welk again!!

“SPLASH-A-TORIUM--Great place on a winter day.”

We wanted to stay at a place that our boys (3 and 6) could have some fun on a winter day. The splash-a-torium was the perfect place. It was a big enough area for the kids to play, but not so big that I couldn't let the kids go to the top of the slide by themselves. It was easy to supervise both boys at the same time.

The room was nice and clean, the grounds, including the playground and mini golf area was tidy, and the buffet breakfast was a nice way to start the day. Overall, it was a pleasant stay that I would recommend to a friend and I would return myself.

My only compaint would be that there were not showers at the splash-a-torium, but the rooms were just a short walk away so it was not a huge inconvienience.

Room Tip: Top floor was very quiet.

“if you dont do the water park there are better values.”

We enjoyed our stay last time. The rooms were great for a birthday gateway and having access to the water park was great. We just came to branson however on a budget and realized that they don't accommodate well for families over 3 without a extra room charge. We found several other budget rooms that were quality and accommodated larger families. Fortunately we didn't need the water park.

At the Welk Resort we strive to provide value to every stay. That is why you can book a vacation with or without our Splash-A-Torium package. We know that there are many options for a visitor to Branson, as far as lodging goes. We feel that our beautiful 70 acre campus, set among the Ozark Mountains, with all of the amenities we offer as a full time resort is priced at very competitive rates. Our clean, warm rooms and exceptional service make our resort a great value, and adding the Splash-A-Torium package and all that it offers: (an indoor/ outdoor pool, hot tubs, waterslide, game room, fitness center) has been the most popular option for our guests.

“Dissatisfied in Branson”

Room was small - at time of booking we were told we would have adjoining rooms with other family members.When we checked in they told us that could not be.We had to go out in the cold and walk to the pool and hot tub.My grand daughter had a pair of boots in the room that she did not wear during our stay but when we got home realized we did not have them.I called the resort and received an answering machine for Housekeeping - after 3 days they returned my call on a Sunday afternoon and said they had the boots.I asked where they were found and was told she did not know - they just showed up on her desk!She wanted my credit card number for shipping - after 4 days they arrived.I checked my statement and was charged $19.35 - I feel that this should have been a courtesy of the resort.I have a feeling that the cleaning lady took them and brought them back after I called the resort about them.

For 18 years The Welk Resort has provided our guests with not only the most gracious service and hospitality, but a safe and clean environment for families and friends to enjoy spending time in the beautiful Ozarks. We have established our hotel as an ethical and upstanding member of the community and a place where we take the security of our guests’ valuables seriously.
First, we are sorry there was a misunderstanding at the time of your reservation. Our policy is to not promise guests a specific room sequence, as we have a limited number of adjoining rooms and depending on when other guests arrive, there can be times when we do not have them. We establish only room type at the time of reservation, and state we will try and have adjoining rooms when you arrive, but cannot promise. We also note in the reservation of the request. Sometimes there is nothing we can do about it.
Second, we are sorry about your granddaughter’s boots. Frequently, guests lose items in their room. They do not know they are lost until they get home, and the items must be shipped. We try and respond to all lost and found items in a timely manner, and we are sorry if you feel we did not respond quickly enough. The shipping cost is determined by the US postal service, not our resort.
Third, we absolutely and vehemently deny any criminal aspect to this unfortunate event. We believe in giving our guests the benefit of the doubt when they have a challenge with their stay. We expect that in a situation like this, unless there is enough evidence, our guests would do the same for us. Obviously that is not the case. Though thefts can occur in hotel situations, we are absolutely positive this was nothing more than an accident, and delay of communication caused by the extreme busyness of the season. Our staff responds to literally dozens of lost items a year. They try and be as courteous and helpful as possible, and our files are filled with thank you letters from guests that have appreciated their returned items, and the service they received.
By your review it is obvious you did not see the value in your stay. For that we are sorry. We find that an overwhelming majority of our guests enjoy their stay, and repeat the experience time and again. We hope you understand that we are not happy when a guest is dissatisfied, but need to respond when we feel we are being vilified in a review.
