My husband's family took him to camp at Compton Ridge and our children, who are now teenagers, have enjoyed going there since they were infants. Yes, the Sims family who initially owned the resort is no longer there and those of us who know them, still fill like we are at their home. They made us part of their family, and for that we are greatful, but change is inevitable. First off, the campground was sold to Legacy and the transition was not a good one. Our experiences, the year after the sale, were not pleasant. However, the current owner and the current managers, Roger and Heidi, have created a warm welcoming atmosphere again.

While things are not exactly the same as they once were, there are activities and special events to be involved in. The last two times we have visited the campground, everything was in beautiful condition. Today we made reservations to go back on Witchy Weekend and plan to go several times this summer. There is a cafe on the grounds now and the merchandise in the store is expanded, as well. If you haven't been for awhile, give the new management a chance. I'm sure the Sims family would want you to! If you've never experienced Compton Ridge, I'm sure you'll find it an enjoyable experience.

While not one of the "20 year people", we have stayed here several times. There is still storage available, you just have to be present for the move. Their have been a lot of improvements with the "second" new owners. I highly recommend the park.

We had been staying here for 22 years with the Sims Family. We used to keep our trailer in their storage and call them up to move it to a site for an extra $10. We had done 15 Witchy Weekends, 8 Fiddler's Springs, 14 Thanksgiving: bring a dish and the Sim's provided the turkey, 21 easter sunrise services with bring a dish brunch......then they sold the campground............and things changed.....no more camper storage!

And to be fair about the new owners.........that's all I have to say!

My family and I first stayed at Compton RIdge in 2008 when the site we were given at Silver Dollar City's campground was for a pop-up camper and we had a travel trailer. After a horrible expierence there my husband called Compton while standing in the parking lot of SDC campground wondering where we would be staying for the entire week. Compton was getting ready to close but they said they would stay open for us. We hurried over and they were great! I am particular about camp grounds, I will admit. I enjoy nice ammenties for my children and clean restrooms. This campground is the best in the Branson area for families! The pool is clean, as are the restrooms. There is a nice playground for kids. We have stayed there 3 additional times and had no problems. We pick our camp site out when we make reservations an that is the camp site we recieve when we arrive. We really don't have much contact with anyone in the office other than checking in but they are nice and helpful during that time. The only downside I see is the "indoor pool" I would not swim in it, its very humid and dirty and possibly full of bacteria.
