Looks like the folks that like Compton Ridge never experienced it when it was owned by the Sims. . . In past years we would drive a van full to Silver Dollar City. Those that wanted to leave early could catch the Shuttle the Sims ran. But not the last time. We tried to get on and the driver said, "I didn't drive you over here, you can't ride back." That's what I call service!
It's still a beautiful place with nice facilities. But across the street, they treat you well. We would go to the SDC campground store and were treated like long lost relatives. A lot of places have nice facilities, but not all have friendly service. Compton Ridge has lost the family touch. It breaks my heart, but we won't be going back. . .

WHen the Sim's family owned Compton Ridge, the shuttle service was operated by Silver Dollar City, The Sim's family had no say in who rode or did not ride the shuttle. After Silver Dollar City ended the shuttle service, Compton Ridge elected to continue the free shuttle service for it's guest. Due to the insurance requirements that where in place in 2010, a log had to be kept on all riders that departed the park. The same riders had to be loged in on the return trip. In 2011, with a new insurance carrier in place, the rider restrictions are somewhat relaxed. The shuttle driver was simply following the guidelines in 2010. As to the staff, we are always happy to welcome people to our house.
