Went to packers game in kansas city on December 17, 2011. We stayed at Hampton Inn, my wife and i and our two young children. We got back to room around 11 to find infestation of bed bugs. They would not refund our money and we were stuck at 12:30 am with two kids and no where to stay, thanks alot hampton inn of Blue Springs , MO! Never again Hampton!

“Definitely worth the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Bottom line: Excellent value for the money (about $75 on a AAA rate), good mid-range hotel, not quite up to the Drury level, but very close, and less expensive. Absolutely worth a return visit.

Details on the room: The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Mine had a very comfortable stuffed chair and ottoman. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the shower was very good. The laptop wireless connection worked fine. On my last visit, the mattress felt a little stiff and was a little squeaky, but I slept pretty well and that's not always the case. Also on this visit, my TV (a large flat-screen) wasn't getting any sound on the CBS station, though every other channel worked fine. The young woman behind the desk worked hard to try to get it fixed, first coming up to my room to try adjusting and restarting the set, and working on it for about 10 minutes. When that didn't work, she got in touch with the local satellite service provider and later reported back to me (turned out to be a satellite problem affecting the whole hotel). I've stayed several times at this hotel, and this was the first time there was any problem.

Details on other items: The indoor pool is small but clean and satisfactory unless you want to swim laps. The breakfast (included) is standard for the chain, tasty, healthy if you want it to be, and served in a clean and spacious room off the lobby. Parking is free. The hotel is close to a major road with restaurants, stores, etc., very close by. The location is about 18 miles from downtown Kansas City, which is where my business was. The drive to downtown is all Interstate 70.

Room Tip: I've seen others suggest that rooms away from the highway side are quieter, which makes sense, b...

“Clean and comfy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

My stay was good. Room was clean and comfy. Staff were great. Good value for the money I paid. I stayed on the interstate side of the hotel and was not bothered by the interstate noise. The parking lot out front did get noisy, though.

“Good, but be careful where your room is located.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

This was a good place in general. Yes, the property is showing a little wear, but, nothing major. That being said, if possible, ask for a room on the backside of the hotel (away from the interstate). Because of the age of the property, the windows are not very sound proof. To overcome this issue, I simple left the Heat/A/C on "fan" all night to act as "white noice" in the background. It did the trick. Also, the computers we in the lobby rather than a separate room. One printer wasn't working and the other was low on toner. Since I just needed it to print a boarding pass, not an issue and the WI-FI worked fine in the rooms.

“Not bad, but not great either”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

This Hampton Inn is showing it's age. It wasn't necessarily a dirty hotel, but there were certainly signs of wear in the room itself. Worn furnishings, discolored caulking in the bathroom, toilet seat wouldn't stay in the 'up' position, louder A/C unit, etc... I should add that they've upgraded the TV's a a flat screen though.

That being said, the AAA rate was a good value compared to comparable Hampton Inn's. Service was great, no complaints there. Easy access to I-70. Not much in the way of restaurants very close by, but plenty if you're willing to drive 5-10 minutes. Standard Hampton Inn breakfast.
