Parking lot does not look safe and room smells heavily of smoke. AC was very poor. Towels were pitiful. Deadbolt was very hard to lock! I would only recommend this place if nothing else is available in KC.

This was a family trip on a tight budget. The hotel was very close to my family. I've stayed in Motel 6 before an expected much better than what we got. Non-smoking rooms had a stench of heavy smoke. The linens were never changed in our eight day stay. Maid service was nonexistent. On the Fourth of July when my children one to swim they closed the pool. The hold down bolts on my toilet were not tightened.

My friend had stayed here once before and said it wasn't bad, so we booked it online. When we got to our room, I immediately noticed that the carpet was pretty dirty right in front of the door. I checked out the bathroom and there was only one bath towel. It hadn't been swept under the sink, but at least there was no mold on the walls. The sheets appeared to be clean. We went to the front desk to request more towels mid-afternoon but still didn't have any when we returned to our room about 10:30 at night. We went back to the front desk again, and they only had one bath towel to give us, but gave extra hand towels and washcloths. At first I didn't notice the smoke smell in our non-smoking room because we had the door open and were busy moving stuff in. But when I was lying on the bed reading, the smoke smell was very apparent. My clothes even smelled of smoke after lying on the bed reading.. Thank goodness I brought my own pillow. There was an ashtray in the room turned upside down with a non-smoking symbol on it. How sick is that to provide an ashtray in a non-smoking room? There was also a hole burned in the comforter on my bed. I will never stay there again, I promise!

Long story short.. One week ago I stayed the night there as I have for almost a year and a half. I shut the door and forgot my camera. Went straight to the desk and informed the clerk. She sent housekeeping to the room and they said there was no camera. So they stole my camera and all those memories I had captured with it on the memory card. I DO NOT recommend staying here ever..
