I rate it a 4 for price, location, and the fact that I expected a TON worse. Yes, the management needs to do some simple things to make this hotel respectable. For one they can remove the construction material from around the property that is apparently not going to be used, old mattresses and pallets can be brought to the dump instead of being stacked behind the hotel, and for the love of Allah (yep, middle eastern owners) put some chlorine in the Green Pool. Honestly most of this could be done in about 2 hours but they don't seem to care.

The room itself wasn't dirty, the carpet was new, and the beds were clean. No obnoxious odors and I didn't feel dirty getting out of the shower. Don't expect anything special but you won't be disappointed if you go into this expecting a dump.

Talk about bed bugs....my 73 year old father was victim to bed bugs in his room. My room had no A/C and so we had to be moved to another disaster room. Under the beds were nasty and dirty. Outlet plugs were so damaged, I was afraid to plug my laptop into it for fear of getting electrocuted. The decor was from the 1950's with lamp shades totally distroyed but fortunate that one light did work. Carpet was nasty and so we dared not go bare-footed. Sheets appeared to be clean but once the nasty comforter was pulled down, there was two pieces of some type of matter that got cleaned with sheets as if the sheets were not shaken out before washed and dryed. Pieces of bug? dried feces? dried clump of dust? Could not tell what it was. The reason I stayed here is there was no other hotel vacancy around for our football game at MSU. The pool water was green!!!!! Nasty. I will never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it. IT IS NOT FIT FOR MY DOG!! We paid $130 for one night...HIGH PRICE FOR THIS BUG INFESTED PLACE. Next time, I will drive an hour to Philadelphia, MS to stay for the same price. Problem is during game season it is hard to find reservations in Starkville, West Point, Columbus for the games. I am going to another game and was lucky to get reservations in Columbus.

So i brought my family down to Starkville for a wedding and we decided to stay in a cheaper hotel to save on some money. It doesn't take much to provide a place for us to lay our heads but this place needs alot of TLC. The rooms weren't the worst i have stayed in but it was close 2nd. The rooms need the carpet cleaned and the funky smell removed. The fire alarm was hanging from our ceiling by one wire. The cleaning staff was less than professional smoking cigarettes in the rooms while they were cleaning them. Also drinking beer on the job literally!!!! I understand that the qualification for the job is breathing but really!! The exterior of the hotel was sketchy as can be. I would stay here again because it was cheap but i will try the days inn next!!

I should have seen the writing on the wall when I arrived, but there was no other rooms available in any other decent hotels. My shower rod was completely pulled out of the
wall and has been for some time because all the water ran on the floor when you showered and the tile was seperating from the floor. Beer bottles lying all over the property, run had a funky smell. If you need a cheap room to cook meth, this is your place. Also had to step over a used condom in the parking lot to get in my truck?????
