Stopped at this hotel on the way home from a business trip in St. Louis. It was very conveniently located near the interstate and very close to several eating establishments. Check in was quick and our room was very comfortable and clean. Complimentary breakfast was fine for our needs and well laid out. Overall, I would recommend it highly.

We stayed here over a weekend where we were visting Oxford MS & Memphis TN. Being Old Miss Graduation weekend, we weren't able to stay in Oxford, so Southaven sounded like the best idea. Since I travel often for buisness I was able to use points rather than cash for the room. Looking at the rates, it appeared to be of appropriate value for the area. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The free internet was defenately a plus and was of sufficent speed to handle our laptop & wifi devices. The TV was somewhat small and old, but with a good channel selection.

The hotel had several youth baseball teams staying in the area, so it was a crowded house. The common areas were barely able to accomadate everybody. But the staff did a good job setting and enforcing ground rules for the youth teams so there was little if any disturbance from them.
I did have a few minor issues. My room wasn't ready when I checked in at 4PM. This was surpising considering I requested an early check in (since I was planning to arrive much earlier than I did). Regardless, a hotel should be fully turned around by 4PM but the staff was quickly able to move me into a room that was ready.
Also, the staff didn't have alot of suggestions about places to eat in the area or directions to downton, etc. Staff was friendly, but not very knowledgable.
The only other issue is that, when closed, the doors tended to slam when released and shook the entire floor. It created somewhat a disturbance in the morning, espically when people left rooms adjacent to ours.

Overall, a good stay, located in a safe, secure area.

This hotel is located in a great area. It is close to lots of restaurants and other shopping places. Cost was $79 per night and that included a hot breakfast. Rooms were clean and included a refridgerator and microwave, as well as free wireless internet. The workers truly know how to show southern hospitality. Everyone was so nice. I plan to return to Memphis again and stay in this same hotel within the next three months.

We were driving home from New Orleans to Saint Louis on Sunday January 9th when the ice storm in Mississippi impacted our drive home. We were in terrible driving conditions and I remembered staying at the Residence Inn in Southhaven last year so I called Marriott's Elite Reservations line and inquired about a room in Southhaven. The $79/night rate at Fairfield Inn was just great as we hadn't anticipated another night's hotel stay. The last 70 miles we had to drive to get to the hotel in ice covered roads left us very shaken and scared. When we saw the Fairfield Inn sign on the exit, we were so happy to have made it safely. Everyone on staff was helpful and nice and our check in was easy. Breakfast was great, the room was clean and we were happy to get a good night's sleep after our horrendous drive. When heading out the next day, everyone wished us luck on the rest of our journey. Thank you to the central reservationist who was so helpful as well as the onsite staff! We were definitely in a perilous driving situation and the Fairfield Inn in Southhaven was a beacon in the storm!
