We stayed at this hotel four nights, in July; to complete our trip in Tennessee. Of course, we were there for the casinos. To be honest, we had mixed feelings about this hotel on our first day. We had chosen it because it was a Best Western, and were glad to have chosen it when we noticed that all the other chain hotels in the area were almost empty - very few cars on their parking lots, which wasn't quite reassuring considering that Tunica resorts is not a town, it's just hotels and casinos in the middle of nowhere - just plain fields, nothing else.
Well, when we arrived from Memphis, it was noon so we thought that was too early for checking in. We went to a casino and went back around 4pm. We had asked for a non-smoking room but when we checked in, the woman at the front desk told us the non-smoking rooms were all gone. We were very disappointed with that. I do smoke (outside) but I travel with my sister and she doesn't smoke, the smell of a cigarette makes her sick. Anyhow, we decided to take the room. And found the housekeepers were still working on it, the room wasn't ready ! And worse, that room was very dirty, extremely dirty I should say, with lots of brown spots in the bathroom, looking like mud or something else I don't dare to name. The housekeepers have been very nice with us. They saw how disgusted we were. First, they said we could put our lugguages in the room until they would have finished to clean it. Then they realized we were so much disgusted, that we weren't in the mood to stay there. So they checked the available rooms, called the reception, and found an other room for us. That was so nice from them. The woman at the front desk came up with our new keys. So we felt better, except this room was still a smoking room (but fortunately the smell of the cigarette was tolerable)... yet, the worse was that it was a room connecting to the next one. We don't like that kind of room, because of the noise, and here, of course, that would mean the smell of the cigarettes from our neighbours was going to come into our bedroom by the space under the connecting door. Well, we have been fortunate... We have had no neighbours on our first three nights, and for the last one, our neighbours have been very quiet and certainly spent most of the night in the casinos: we sensed no smell of cigarette.
So apart that, I would say our whole stay there has been very pleasant - the room was OK, well cleaned every day, the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good, with eggs, sausages, french toasts, waffles... The only thing which might be a problem is that the hotel has not a large area where people who are in groups can meet in the morning. So, they meet in the breakfast area ! Meaning they eat their breakfast then stay there, occupying the tables and the chairs. So when you arrive for your breakfast, it's sometimes hard to find a table. Fortunately, the groups who were there (some kind of church) left at about the same time we came down for breakfast, so it was OK.
So I would say that next time we'll be there, we'll stay there again. Because despite we had a connecting room and smoking room, the staff at this hotel has been friendly and tried his best to help us, particularly the housekeepers that we want to thank here, very very much.
And the hotel is well located, close by car to all the casinos. There are also gas stations nearby, and a liquor store. The outlet stores were very disappointing, we love to go shopping but found absolutely nothing there. It's better to go spend - reasonably - your money on the slot machines as we did - didn't win any money but the machines seem to be set to give you a lot of bonus so that was fun.
