“Very Nice Hotel Manager (CARLOS)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I booked my reservation on line at a very reasonable rate for mid week, however, when I arrived at the front desk I was told that since I was paying cash for my room that I would have to pay the $50.00 deposit. I tried to tell the supervisor that was not stated on the confirmation that I printed. I even called the reservation line to confirm that I did make the reservation. It did disclose the debit and credit card hold but failed to mention that a cash deposit is required when paying cash for the room. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and did not have to pay the deposit. The supervisor told me that it was because I booked under a free room offer. I asked her about waiving my deposit (just this once) due to the mix up of me not knowing that I would be required to do this. She was rude and insisted that she could not waive my deposit. I soon realized that she was not going budge with waiving the deposit. I asked her was anyone there had the authority to waive my deposit. She them said that her manager was here but insisted that he was not going to waive it either. GUESS WHAT it was waived by Mr. Carlos. In the interest of GUEST SERVICE he honor my one time request. Mr. Carlos need to teach his fellow supervisors what guest service means. I thanked him and told him that I would know on my next trip to bring extra cash when paying cash for the room.

Room Tip: Sam's is the only casino that has a Steak House that is open 7 days a week. The service is aweso...

“It was alright, not too impressed”

Rude ladies at check in desk. Was paying cash and they took a 50$ deposit for smoking but I could get it back at checking out. Understandable and I paid it. When checking out, they didnt even check the room to make sure we didnt smoke in it or damage anything-- they just handed it over. Why did they even take a deposit then?

In room, one of the outlets on the wall next to the bed looked fried. May want to check that out...looked dangerous. Other than that , the room was great! Very clean and nice.

Casino complaint: Not enough roulette tables. Also, we were planning on playing a few roulette games the day we checked out and there were none open. Pit Boss said 8am they would start it up and we could play roulette... 8:15 am we checked and they hadnt.

Also, the gift shop was suppose to be open at 7am and wasnt. Asked a lady in the food court and she called and said that the gift shop lady must be running late and they would go open it. 8:30 rolls around...and still not open.

I think Sams needs a few more workers?
Probably will try another casino next time.

We ended up stopping by the fitz and spent our money there before returning home. Their gift shop and roulette tables were open and running just fine ;)

Room Tip: Be a BConnect member and check discounts. Go during week day to get extremely cheap room. Dont stay...

“Holiday Trip”

Nice room at a very reasonable price. Stayed during Christmas Holiday and it was not busy. Very nice that it is, yes, connected to the casino. Housekeeping was poor, possibly because of the holiday. But otherwise a good stay.

Room Tip: Nice if you like to walk back to your room after time on the gaming floor.

“Nice place to stay and play!”

We recently spent 4 nights at Sam's Town, Tunica for our 21st wedding anniversary. Our room was nice--bed was pretty comfie. We didn't have an ironing board, not sure if we were supposed to have one, and didn't ask for one (so not sure if they would've given it to us) Otherwise we had a great stay.

We couldn't get our room key to let us out to the pool area? Not sure why. Not really a big deal since it was actually SNOWING. My husband had never seen the pool area there.

“MY experience over all was GREAT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Check in was quick and efficient. The bed was rock hard and the window face a wall that was arms length or slightly more from the window of my room. The TV was fair although all the local channels were fuzzy/snowy.

The food on the buffet was excellent although the buffet employees need to be educated on not only food ingredients/prep but food allergies. Also not to talk about guests and/or the questions the guests asked them where they can be overheard by others including the guest that asked the food allergies related question.

Although the beer and wine at the buffet was included (all you could consume), the quality of the food was diminished by tap beer.

The hotel and casino employees were friendly and took the time to talk to my wife about the games they manned. She is a beginner and their taking the time to teach her the game and rules (Black Jack and Roulette) not only made her comfortable but endeared her to come back again in a couple months.

I will be back. Hopefully the beds will be better, the TV reception better and maybe something for my wife to do when she does not feel like playing the games. Possibly a sauna, steam room, or a massage/pedicure/manicure shop.

Although the cafe (snack shop) had wireless, it was inconvenient to travel to to check the stock market or send email or send info to the office, it would have been better if there was wireless in the rooms or in more areas as it does not help those of us that like to blog or work via the internet when we get a chance.
