“DONT GO HERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2007

The place was DIRTY. Awful experience. On top of it all, I left my makeup there. I soon as I realized it was missing (20 min after leaving) I called management. They assured me they would mail it back, and did. But first someone stole ALL of my brand-new stuff. About $150 worth, and charged me $20 to mail back an EMPTY makeup bag.

“Almost the worst!”

While on our vacation we had an overnight stay in the Jackson area.(Richland is just on the outskirts of Jackson.) I booked my room, and we got there after dark. It was pouring down rain, and we were tired and ready to relax. The front desk check in/out area was very clean and nice , this was promising. The lady behind the desk was very nice. SHe handed me my key card and we went to our room, which was around the back. When we got there there was about three people near our room. I thought they were cleaning people or something, but on closer inspection they were drinking and barbecuing. They were talking loud and trying to talk to us as we were getting in our room. My husband thought maybe they were yelling overr the rain, I thought it was rediculous. There was a woman and a child yelling, too, and they even occasionally bumped into our door! I would have complained, or even tried to get our money back, but I knew a refund was futile and I didn't want the management to tell them, 'the people next to you are complaining' , they might do something to my car --or us! I had to turn the tv up and the air on high to try and filter out the noise.
The room itself was no picnic, either. It was a smoking room, which was the only room they had to meet our needs, and we have stayed in smoking rooms before and it's usually no big deal. There were burn marks eeverywhere, there was hair in the tub drain, the towels, although they smalled clean, were stained, the towel racks were all bent (they still held toowels, but it looked ugly!) there was no coffeemaker , the tv had limited channels and kept losing satellite feed, the beds were very hard, pillows were hard, too...no phone book, the lampshades were covered in dust, and the walls were dusty and had splotches of what we thought was an array of bodily fluids.(I am NOT joking!)
I didn't know I had a place to post photos, because when we were there it did cross my mind to take some, I wish I had now so you could see what I am talking about.
I have nothing against barbecues or people who barbecue, but if you roll up on your room and there is a 2x2 foot pile of firewood and a grill, don't stay there! Absolutely hideous!

“Roach Motel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2005

I had to go to the Jackson International Airport on a night when all rooms were sold out in the area except for the Days Inn in Richland. What a miserable experience; I'm seriously thinking of disputing the charge with my credit card company. Although there was a very pleasant lady on duty in the daytime at the Front Desk, the room itself was a roach-infested dump with a TV in need of repair and a really disgusting bathroom. I knew that the motel was sold out and that no other room was available, yet no attempt was made at checkout to rectify my concerns. No manager came out to speak to me and no adjustment was offered against my bill. I realize that the Jackson area has a shortage of hotel rooms due to the combination of hurricane evacuees and relief workers, plus sporting events, but staying with the roaches just isn't worth it. Yech!!!!!!!!!
