We spent 4 nights there in early November 2011. Our room was on the 3d floor, and we had a great view of the roof of the casino and arena. They've closed the hotel for most of the week as a result of the slower economy. The rooms were OK, and relatively clean although they could use updating and for some reason the bed was hard on my back. The icemaker at our end of the 3d floor was nonoperational which was something I've never seen in any quality hotel. A sky bridge connects the Golden Moon with the Silver Start hotel and casino. We only tried a couple restaurants - El Potrillo and the Dolce Sweet Shop. El Potrillo was pretty rough, reheated frozen something with minimal flavor. The Dolce was the only place I could find that had a coffee shop - not bad but everything other than coffee was a bit pricey. The resort is a few miles out of town. The golden Moon Gym and pool were closed however we were able to use the facilities over at the Silver Star which were in the Spa. The spa had a nice workout area. If you're a runner, you can go out and run around the parking lot, then down the maintenance road.. however running along the main road is at your own risk, there's virtually no shoulder.
Overall, it was a safe, adequate hotel for the price, with pleasant staff, however hopefully they will update things once they start seeing more customers start to return. Ultimately 99% of the visitors will be there for the casino or to see a show in the arena so they won't be looking for hotel amenities.

We decided to have a friend's bachelorette party at the Pearl River Resort. Reservations were made for two double rooms, there were eight of us staying. When we checked in we were told that only King rooms were available and that room preferences were given on a "first come, first serve" basis. We ended up sleeping three people in a king and one on a fold out. The room was missing some basic amenities and we had to wait almost an hour to get an iron sent up from housekeeping. The second night we had dinner at Remo's Italian Restaurant inside the hotel. Service was AWFUL! The poor server was clueless of how to take care of an 8 top. The bartender, Julie, deserves a promotion for picking up our server's slack and the managers. Food was poorly represented on the menu and the wine list was a joke. The nicest red wine on the menu was Ryunite Lambrusco and the place appeared to be one of their upscale restaurants. We had a terrible experience at the Beachclub at the water park, and that was after they decided if they were going to even open up that day. I will definately not be spending any future weekends in the area.

Mississippi has a fine hotel!! Southern hospitality, privacy, luxury, fine dining, and expect exceptional service. Waterpark for the family. Small airport. Entertainment and various concerts in the arena. The best Mexican, upscale restaurant is El PORTRILLO @ Silver Star and don't miss eating at MIKO. Miko's located @ Silver Star is fine dining at it's best. Simply devine.. Silver Star Casino is a skywalk away. The SOUTH has a winner!! 

We just got back from the Pearl River resort. We have always loved to stay and play at The Golden Moon casino, which is across from the Silver Star. Boy, were we in for a shock this time! The Golden Moon is no longer a casino, but now a arena for concerts! Nothing is even open anymore except two restaurants, not even a buffet! We went down to the pool for an afternoon of sun and found that the outdoor pool was closed. There is one iny room with a few old, outdated slots, that don't pay off. Over at the Siver Star, business was booming, and the slots are mostly new and updated. We will now stay at the Silver Star when we go, much to our dismay. I just can't believe it. There is enough business to support both casinos!
