“Stay Here! I will Stay Here Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

This Hotel was awesome and met my expectations. It was everything everyone else has said. The decor was beautiful and it was very clean. The staff was very friendly as well. It was very quiet and the rooms were big and nice. I had the King with the adjustable bed which was nice because I like a firm mattress. The room was nicely appointed and met my expectations. The location was good. If you area light sleeper, It can be noisy on the side of the hotel next to the Interstate, but it didn't bother me at all. Just ask for the opposite side. My ONLY compliant is that the staff is very anxious to get the rooms cleaned so they will knock on your door either before 11:00am or right at 11:00am. I think they should at least wait until 11:30 or 11:15 considering this is not a "check out time" motel (if you know what I mean). So if you are "running late" you may want to call the front desk first or be annoyed by constant knocks by the housekeeping staff who didn't tell the others that they have already knocked on your door a couple times (even though its only 10:30 or so). The front desk manager said she had warned the staff about rushing the guests so maybe this won't continue to happen. But at least you know they are willing and ready to prepare the next person's room on time. So its a good thing as well. But overall, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Jackson, MS or Pearl. I hope they continue to provide this type of quality because I will be back!

“Disappointed. Would not Stay Here Again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

Pearl MS was as good as any place to stop during my drive to Atlanta from Dallas. Stayed here based on the reviews and was a bit disappointed with my stay. The grounds were fine and the room was okay. My issue lies in the idea that at a minimum, I expect cleanliness and a place free of insects. This place failed on both accounts. The room was musty, the bathroom had a dirty tub and hair on the floor, and the pillows smelled like sweat, which makes me doubt the cleanliness of the linens. I had trouble sleeping after killing the tarantula(s) on the wall. Okay, well maybe it wasn't a tarantula but I kind of think that I should be the only thing alive in the room. A plus would be the free internet, but both the wired and wireless varieties are extremely slow so outside of light surfing, I wouldn't plan on getting any work done with that connection if you have any intensive applications or want to pass the time with anything multimedia related (Hulu, etc). Also, the room service is via a restaurant that shares a parking lot in the hotel. I would pass on ordering in if you decide to eat there. It took about an hour and the food was ice cold. I do believe the restaurant may be worth it if you walk over there yourself. The staff seemed friendly although the front desk staff member was in the dining area on his laptop, so when I needed him, I had to walk over there to get his attention. All in all if you are looking for a stopping point during an Interstate 20 crusade, try the Hampton in Vicksburg. It was 30 miles more on the return trip but a better value for your money.

“Outstanding Service and Good Room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

I just stayed two nights while in Jackson on business. I have never been processed through check-in as quickly as they did. The service was outstanding. Even the cleaning staff asked me on my way out of my room if I had any special requests. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was clean as well. I didn't have an opportunity to eat breakfast there so I can't say how it was. They don't offer lunch or dinner so you have to order room service through Lone Star. Now, I've eaten several times at Lone Star and have never received a bad meal. Well, that was until I ate room service from this one. Wow, it was bad. You have other choices so I suggest you take one of them. I will stay here again the next time I'm in Jackson.

“Would not stay here again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

Advertised Self Adjusting Sleep System but not in out room, Also, found candy at head of bed, cheerios on floor, bathtub has a ring in it and dirt around the drain. The good things are that is it close to some restaurants and the room was cool when we arrived.

“Great room and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

We stayed at the HGI in Pearl, MS, on our way to Destin, FL. Our room was clean and beautifully furnished, had a TV, fridge, and Internet access in the room. Plenty of closet space, too. I would give this hotel 4.5 stars. The last half a star is missing because in the morning for breakfast there were no bowls left for cereal. We asked the girl who worked there and she came back with one. After I told her I needed another, she said, "I have to wash some more." About 10 minutes later she did come out with a bowl (a single bowl, not a stack, which you'd think that's what she would be washing), but we had already used a coffee cup to eat the cereal out of. They were out of bowls and other plates in the morning for breakfast (and this was about 9:30 A.M.)

All of the staff (including the "bowl" girl") were VERY FRIENDLY and efficient. Enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again.
