I booked this hotel on the internet through "Trip Rewards". The hotel membership program that Super 8 participates in. I was traveling with my family and booked three separate rooms for a one night stay, with a late arrival note in the reservation, and all guaranteed by a credit card of course. I didn't really expect too much staying in a "motel", the plan was just to get a few hours sleep and continue on our way. However it didn't work out that way, the nightmare had only began. We'd been driving all day and arrived there at around 1am, only to find out they had given all but one of our rooms away! That sort of thing happens, I can accept that, as irritating as it is, it happens. But you would expect the hotel/motel to promptly find you other accomodations. This didn't happen, the person at the front desk was extremely rude and barely spoke English, made a very poor attempt at finding us other accomocations The clerk said he didn't know anyplace that would match the rates that we got the rooms for. This was after he argued with me saying I had only reserved one room, with me standing there with the reservation printout in my hand. I called "Trip Rewards", to verify my reservations and they promptly called the motel front desk and the desk clerk argued with them on the phone for over 20 minutes. I'm tired and exhausted standing there in the foyer, (because the hotel lobby is locked at night), so you stand in the foyer between the inner and outer doors and talk to the front desk through a small window with a thick pane of glass and a recepticle to slide your method of payment through. An hour later, (2am now), I just tell the clerk to forget it, I will find my own accomodations. I ask him to just cancel my existing reservations and he tells me he cannot do that because I booked the reservations online. At this point I cannot believe this! I called "Trip Rewards", very upset at this point and canceled. No apology, no anything. Trip Rewards stated it's the hotels responsibility to make any jesture to compensate you. This was my first and last dealing with "Trip Rewards" or any of it's affiliates. I knew I should have stuck with Hilton, Starwood, or Priority Rewards. I know sometimes you must stick to a budget in traveling, but a lessoned learned for me, you get what you pay for in dealing with hotels/motels.......or sometimes "not" in my case!
