Bottom Line: I was looking for a clean, comfortable, safe place to stay at a good value in Oxford. I was very happy with my stay. If you need the newest and greatest and value is of no concern to you, then you might be happier somewhere up the street.
After reading all of the negative reviews here, I really wanted to avoid this hotel. However, when it became clear that it was at the best price point in town for my dates by far, I decided to take a chance on it and relocate if it was intolerable after checking in. I am pleased to report that I left a happy customer, and feel compelled to write this review to counter some of the negative reviews found below. Honestly, I'm not sure what some of the reviewers expected, but I do wonder if it can be found anywhere in Oxford! If you are looking for five star accommodations, you should not probably consider Comfort Inns in general...not to mention the fact that you'd definitely not be able to stay anywhere in Oxford!
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The design/decor was not the latest and greatest, but I would not say the place was in dire need of a facelift. Overall, the room was tastefully decorated, and the furnishings were in good shape. The bed was comfortable, and the bedding was clean. There were some noticeable stains on the armchairs, but they seemed to be the unfortunate result of material/color choice, and not indicative of any signs of "filth" anywhere else in the room or on the property.
In the room, there was a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave, as well as free wifi. These along with the complimentary hot and cold continental breakfast (including boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereals, bread, coffee, juices, waffle maker, biscuits and gravy) further added to the overall excellent value of the room.
The one and only problem I encountered was handled quickly, courteously, and professionally by the hotel staff. I requested a non-smoking room, and confirmed this at check in. Upon arrival in my room, it smelled strongly of smoke. Without hesitation, I was given an alternate room which was to my satisfaction.
I was very pleased with my stay at the Comfort Inn, Oxford, MS, and would have no reservations recommending it to anyone who is looking for a good value in a 2-3 star property.
