My wife and I are proud alumni of Ole Miss. We lived in Oxford for half a decade during school and love the town fondly. But this motel is the perfect example of what you can get away with when there's limited options.

The nearest town with other motels outside of Oxford is Batesville, which isn't any bigger and is almost 30 minutes away. Oxford has one upscale hotel "The Inn at Ole Miss" which is on campus and extremely pricey. The rest of the town are chain/franchised holes like this one. This one isn't the only one; there's Days Inn and Holiday Inn Express and a few others. They're all owned by the same extended family (the Patels/the Chaddhas) and take no care to keep them in good shape or give good service. Why? Because they don't have to; there's NOWHERE else to say but at their dingy motels.

On top of this, since there's no other options in this college town, they overcharge because if you don't like it, you can stay much cheaper....in Memphis, an hour away. That's right. You can drive an hour to Memphis and have 200 options and keep the price tag out of the triple digits, or you can stay at one of these lovely holes and pay upwards of $200 a night on the weekend.

For $80 a night on a weekday, in a small MS town one would expect a clean room, working toliet, and decent environment. I received none of the above. The toilet did not flush, the carpet was wet in front of the sink; presumably from the previous guest toilet over flow. The room was hot, holes in the wall, holes in the carpet. Just walking into the room makes you feel unclean. I would prefer to spend the night in the Oxford city jail than spend another night @ the Oxford Super 8. Disgusting!!!!!!!

Had to make an emergency trip to Oxford at the spur of the moment and was looking for something for one night. It was OK for one night. Bedding was clean and so was bathroom but hotel itself looks tired and needs a thorough cleaning. The breakfast was basically cereal and coffee. We will probably not stay there again.

I have stayed in most of the hotels in Oxford and like this one the least. It is a motel, not a hotel with all rooms opening out to the parking lot. The room was very outdated and musty smelling. The shower had mold around the edges and there was blood on the wall. I arrived late at night and left before breakfast so was unable to speak to the manager so I contacted the hotel by email about the problems with the room. No one ever responded. All in all, there are other much more pleasant and clean places to stay so it is worth it to spend a little more.
