We atayed at this Super 8 in Oxford MS. We have stayed at many Super 8's and they were clean and the staff friendly. We checked in around 2:00pm the front desk clerk was very friendly. I explained that I wanted a clean room because the hotel had gotten bad reviews and my husband was skeptical about staying there. The clerk told me that the reviews were probably written by competing hotels. Well, now that we stayed at this hotel I doubt that the reviews were written by the competition. We checke din and drove around the back of the building looking for our room. There were lots of people hanging around smoking and drinking. Our room was thankfully on the inside corridor. We went into the room and it stank like old bleach and urine. I went in the bathroom and flicked on the light. There was poop on the wall below the lightswitch. We also had 2 very very thin towels and two of them had brown stains on then. We took them to the desk and they were replaced by thread bare towels, When we got up the next morning and went to breakfast we walked past the front desk, the clerk was sitting on a stool texting. She did not even acknowledge us. We went into where the breakfast was and there were 4 or 5 employees sitting at the tables having breakfast.

Room was terribly dirty. Had a horrible smell. Was moved to a room with an interior door and it was somewhat better, but still the carpet was gross.
"High speed" internet might exist, but never could get a connection so cannot confirm.

We stayed in the handicap room. The floor were very dirty. The bathroom smelled terrible and the tub was so dirty you couldn't even take a bath in it. There was dog or cat food on the wall of the bathroom. At least the sheets were clean but I wouldn't stay in that room again.

I have no idea why travellers don't give this hotel higher marks! We've stayed here several times while our daughter was a student at Ole Miss. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating, the rooms have been clean, quiet, and fairly spacious, and the breakfast has been good. The location is great, too. For the price, and for Oxford, it's quite good....far, far better than the Days Inn, which is simply horrible!! Really...don't stay there--if you do, you'll be sorry! Also, we like the Super 8 better than the Comfort Inn. Overall, the Super 8 is a good place to stay when you're in Oxford.
