“Ok place for the price but remodeling bit by bit!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

Smell of smoke terrible in hall and elevator of 3rd floor. Other reviews warned of remodeling and it is a long way from being done. Location good for overnight stay. Staff were kind and helpful. They should hire a new contractor for remodel. It is taking too long and not great work. Our room was clean but still wasn't finished painting or all of the furniture. Carpet was ok but had lumpy pad by door. Just not quality but for the price it was fine.

“Typical of the Brand”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

This is a small hotel with average amenities but probably the nicest hotel in New Albany. The staff was very helpful, going out of their way to make us welcome and ensure that everything in our room was satisfactory. They do have a pool but it is a small one and is located at the front of the hotel. In my opinion, not the best place to build a pool. We were only there overnight, but it was a pleasant stay with a decent breakfast included.

“Absolutely Awful!! Old and rundown...”

Do not stay here. This place was built in the 1970s and has been updated very poorly.. The carpet appears to be original from all the stains. The a/c unit couldn't cool the room efficiently, and the bathroom shower appeared to be tiled by a small child. This place was a joke. Not your typical new Holiday Inn Express you've come to expect. Dirty, nasty, and flat out unacceptable. There were also some questionable individuals hanging out in the lobby.
The elevator was broke, the red paint on the walls was also on the white ceiling, the toilet was loose from the floor, etc. I could go on.. There is a brand new Hampton Inn across the interstate. Stay there. It's worth the extra $15.. I promise.

“Awesome Customer Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2010

We were very happy with this hotel. The rooms were clean, the furniture very nice and the bed was very comfy! We had a few small issues, there was lipstick on the curtain and the towel rack fell on the floor. We were heading out while the maids were coming in and when we returned, the door was left wide open. Fortunately nothing was stolen. We addressed the problem with the manager and she immediately gave us an upgrade to a suite! We feel this was awesome customer service! We would come back here and recommend this place very easily!

“Roadtrip overnight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2010

We pulled off the road after midnight, and got 2 non-smoking rooms at this hotel. Our family ended up on floors 2 and 3 because to have both rooms on the same floor non-smoking, we would have had to have had a handicap room. The thing I didn't like was that each floor was half smoking and half non-smoking, so the hallway still smelled like smoke. I prefer non-smoking hotels, or hotels that the entire floor is non-smoking. It is obvious that the place is older and has been remodeled. I thought they did a pretty good job, except the tiling in the bathroom the grout wasn't pretty. It looked like a diy project, not a professional. We were only at the place for about 8 hours total, so we didn't use the pool. But it isn't attached to the hotel at all, parking lot on all four sides. I hadn't seen a pool like that in awhile. The staff were the best part about this place. The late night check-in woman was so sweet. The breakfast lady was also nice, and the cinnamon rolls were wonderful. They didn't have any recycling at the hotel either, so we had to put our cans/bottles in the trunk of the car until we got to a place with recycling.
