I have been a loyal Days Inn person for years. But this has had to be the WORST Days Inn I have ATTEMPTED to stay in. After taking nearly 30 minutes to find my reservation and get checked in, I enter the room to find the temperature abhorrent. It was over 85 degrees outside and NO AIR OR FAN running in the room. Because of this, the bedding and cloth covered chair felt damp and smelled musty. I then attempted turn the air on, and it would not even go on. I then called the desk to have someone either fix the air or get me another room. They said they would call me right back. In the meantime, I went into the bathroom, turned on the light, it was about a 40 watt floruescent ceiling can, which means the bathroom was DARK. The bathroom had a bad odor, and the bathtub/shower looked like it had not been cleaned for a week. I then turned on the interior lighting to the room (I had left the door open to get some air in) and when the light turned on, WATER BUGS ran under the mini fridge area. I then decided that this was NO PLACE to stay. I told the person in charge of the problem and that I would be leaving, and would expect a refund. He said that I had already paid for the room and he would see what he could do. I was then pretty upset and then just left. I went ACROSS the street to a Holday Inn Express, and for only $15 MORE for the evening, I had a cool, clean, fresh smelling room, outstanding stay, with friendly and cheerful employees that seemed to care about what I needed. You can be sure that I will be VERY leery about staying in ANY Days Inn from now on. Being a Trip Rewards member, I would think that the people at the Moss Point Days Inn would have, AT THE LEAST, discounted part of the room, or at least made the attempt at putting me in another room immediately. I WAS THE ONLY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT AT 4 - 5 PM on a Saturday.
